I discovered my preference for teaching and helping those that struggle with understanding concepts during my graduate work. I have a passion for learning and for learning the most effective routes for concept building. This is the basis of how I structure my tutoring sessions regardless of subject. I believe that conceptual understanding followed by appropriate application of learned tools for maneuvering within the concept is the key to learning and internalizing a subject as opposed to ro... Hi, my name is Tracy. I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan and in my late 20s I came to America with very little English. As a result, the only job I could find was in the Chinese restaurant business. After some years, I was frustrated with my inability to communicate with customers, so I enrolled in an ESL class and studied very hard. Later, with encouragement from my ESL teachers, I took community college level writing classes and, with much persistence, gradually improved my English. Te... [more]

Geometry is a stepping stone to success in Math and Science in high school and beyond! Like Algebra, Geometry gives you the skills to learn and understand all types of higher mathematics. I have the tools and experience to help you learn and succeed in Geometry. Let's work together and give you the opportunities to succeed that you deserve! As a Ph.D. in chemistry and biology I specialize in helping students get ahead, and stay ahead in advanced Science and Math courses. Whether you're reviewing for A.P. Biology and Chemistry, or looking for improvement in Organic Chemistry or Molecular Biolog [more]

Geometry is a very different subject from the majority of mathematics (pre-algebra through differential equations/numerical methods) and can often make even the brightest math students stumble. I understand because I also had difficulty when I first took this course, and math had always come naturally to me. If this sounds familiar to you, let me tutor you/your child in Geometry - I know where they are coming from and I know how to get them to understand all the different theorems and how to write a proof. It's still math. Let's do it. [more]

I've always had a passion for math. I've been tutoring the kids older than me throughout school. I finished Calculus I and II in high school. As a Naval Officer and Nuclear Engineer, I've had the opportunity to apply math throughout my career. Helping students be more comfortable with mathematical concepts is my goal. I completed Calculus I and II in High School. For one of my Senior classes, I taught Algebra to the Freshmen. I went to College in University of San Diego where I graduated w... [more]

I have been working with students/education for nearly 10 years and have enjoyed every minute of it! I thoroughly enjoy working with students to help them with a variety of topics and subjects to help build their confidence! I have loved school my entire life, and if given the chance, I would be a perpetual student! I would love to study everything out there just for the pure joy and interest of learning! As a tutor, I will work diligently to prepare all students for exams, help with revie... [more]

I have taught Geometry for 4+ years at a private school in Orange County. Over this time, I also developed my own geometry lessons and materials. My PhD background on mathematical models makes me very comfortable with math. I am now writing a geometry exercise book for students that they can use with my geometry lessons. The lessons that I have created have been used and tested by over 10 advanced students of math. My tutoring approach is to first get you up to speed on your coursework, but ultimately to guide you in becoming an independent learner. [more]

I have taught Geometry remediation at the Army and Navy Academy. I am very familiar with the topics that students have trouble with. I have been teaching Physics for the past 5 years and I truly love it. Before that, I tutored it for 4 years. In college I chose Physics as my major because I enjoyed it and it made sense to me. I decided to tutor it because I wanted others to see the same things. My goal, still, is to show my students that Physics is not hard and can be fun to learn. I have taught at large public schools and small private ones. I am not limited to Physics though, I have al [more]

Hi! I'm Han and until last year I was a Ph.D. student at UCSD's bioengineering department (don't worry, I graduated safely). While working on my Ph.D., I've come to love teaching students and helping them solve problems, in lecture halls and during private office hours. However, I've been a tutor long before I started grad school as I've tutored Chemistry and Math in my community college for the chemistry department and for the Financial Aid office respectively. In my years teaching, I've c... [more]

Greetings! I have been an educator since 1987. A friend asked me to help a young girl who was struggling with feeling intimidated by her male tutor in ESL. I discovered then a passion for teaching and have been doing so in a variety of positions both formal and informal since then. I push my students to learn the specific information they ask of me. Perhaps more importantly though, it is my hope that they will find a passion for learning and gain skill sets that they can use in all their end... [more]
