Geometry is an important subject to learn because it teaches the student how to logically solve a problem using a given set of information to prove that other properties are true about a given shape. The analytical skills that are developed in this course are important for any line of work that the student will pursue in the future. My geometry tutoring focuses teaching these analytical skills with an emphasis on how they can be used in a wide range of fields including engineering and computer science. [more]

I have taught geometry at several high schools and enjoy this part of the curriculum especially. This is because my graduate work was in mathematical logic (which fascinates me). Geometry is the first high school experience a student has with logic as an explicit part of mathematics. My deep understanding of logic allows me to make Geometry simple and understandable. Hi, my name is James. I am an experienced, patient, and personable tutor of science, mathematics, software, and technology. When I teach math concepts such as Geometry/Math 2, I try to make it more engaging for the student by connecting the math concepts to other subjects. Some students relate more to the language of math so I'll discuss the etymology of unique math terms. Math has a natural connection to history and science and Geometry/Math 2 especially connects well to the arts and architecture. I also find real-world applications for the math concepts so students see how relevant math is in their lives. Bay Area credentialed math teacher available for tutoring Advanced Math. Although a student may have excelled at algebra, geometry can often be challenging if they're not an extremely visual learner or processor. In my work with geometry students, I encourage them to look at diagrams, proofs, etc. in at least a couple of ways, finding alternative strategies whenever possible so that their "toolbox" will be more extensive for future problems. Time for summer scheduling! Whether your student would like to preview the coming year's material, prep for a placement test, get help with a summer course, fill some gaps, or just have fun with some enrichment activities, I'd [more]

I use Geometry extensively in my design work. I like to explore the relationships Geometry uses to describe our physical world. A good grounding is Geometry is very useful in everyday life. I completed Geometry Honors during my freshman year of high school. During junior and senior year, I tutored underclassmen in math, including Geometry. This tutoring included help with homework as well as exam prep. In recent years working with Geometry students, I have emphasized application of formulas through practice problems as a natural way of committing those formulas to memory. I also have refined a strategy for approaching proofs in a systematic and concise manner, thus relieving students of the anxiety associated with this topic. [more]

I love teaching Geometry and showing how it relates to Algebra, Physics, and Engineering. I was the principal instructor for a major test preparation company for a number of years, and I am certified to teach test prep for the PSAT, ACT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. For more than ten years, I was an instructor for Math, Reading and Writing for a major after-school education program. Geometry is really fun to learn and I like it as a tutor. A good grounding in geometry is very useful in everyday life. It is a stepping stone to taking higher level math classes like calculus. It is also a high school graduation requirement in California schools so it is important to pass this class. I took geometry in high school and have been using it ever since. I have successfully tutored geometry for the last six years. I am very passionate about tutoring and my students.
