Geometry is perhaps the key subject to truly understanding (and not simply route learning) mathematics that opens the door to algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and beyond. I have taught high school and college students in geometry, algebra I, and algebra II with this approach in mind and have helped them improve their class scores (some by as many as 20 points in a short couple of months!) and methods for test preparation (such as for the End of Course test). My passion for mathematics and abstract critical thinking, I believe, make my instruction as practical and even enjoyable for students as [more]

I'm a middle grades math teacher that has a current Florida Professional certificate that expires in June 2017. I've taught Regular and Intensive math, Algebra and Pre-algebra, 7th and 8th grade. There is no greater reward than to see the academic growth of a student under my tutelage. I received my undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana. My concentration is in Psychology and Business. I received my teacher certification from the Hillsborough Community College EPI ... [more]

My primary focus is mathematics, ranging from common-core to calculus. I am also comfortable with physics, ACT prep., resume prep., and proof-reading written assignments. My tutoring experience includes Common-Core (6th grade and 8th grade), Algebra II, Chem 101/102, Calculus, a few unpaid sessions in electrical engineering courses, and English/literature. I graduated from Louisiana Tech in May 2017 with a B.S. in electrical engineering and a minor in mathematics. Before that, I graduated... [more]

I worked for thirty years with engineering teams to create new and retrofit chemical plants in the US and abroad. I performed basic and detailed process design of equipment, piping, instrumentation, and control systems to produce designs that have remained productive, safe, and economic throughout their business life cycle. I worked in product, pilot plant, and process development function; hands-on construction liaison, direct shift supervision of plant operating technicians; design liai... [more]

My name is Rachna. I graduated with a B.S degree in Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Austin. I further pursued my medical degree and became an MD at St. Matthew's school of Medicine in the Cayman Islands. I have 15 plus years of experience in high level and advanced Sciences and Math. I understand how tough it can be to grasp certain concepts in Sciences and Math. I too, used the help of tutors through my education which was of great help to me. At that time, I knew one day I wi... [more]

I started learning Geometry when I was in 4th Grade. I have Bachelors in Mathematics, so have studied all laws of Geometry. Hence, I am qualified to tutor Geometry. I would want the students to work hard, go through the class notes, chapters that he/she going to be tutored. It would let me know that students are interested in learning. I cannot solve all the problems, but I would try to help concentrate the students on how to solve problems without solving it. It sounds weird, but the technique to solve any math questions is understanding the questions, learning what the questions is trying to [more]

I taught Algebra I in previous years and have also tutored GT Geometry students and Algebra II students in the past. Algebra I is a gateway course into Geometry and mastery of both courses greatly improves skills needed to pursue higher education. Whether you are currently struggling with a course, or have an upcoming course that you would like to get a head start on, one-on-one tutoring can greatly improve positive development of your educational abilities by increasing mastery of critical skills, improving your overall academic performance, building self-confidence, and driving you to meet a [more]
