I have taught and tutored Geometry and Algebra at the high school level for several years. I have always loved learning, and I want to share that experience with my students. After spending 16 years as a professional scientist in the field of medicine, I have decided to focus on helping my children and other students with their academic quest. I can take the pain out of learning new things, share my enthusiasm and make school interesting. I will teach you the academic discipline skills that will help you achieve your goals. I can even help you figure out what you really want.... [more]

Greetings! My name is Sabrina and I am a current college junior attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). I am a part of the UNLV Honor's College program and I'm in pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Solar & Renewable Energy. After completing a Bachelor's Program, I hope to continue for a Master's. I am a Las Vegas native and have been in the Clark County School District my entire educational career. I have been apart of the private school systems since... [more]

I tutored after school for my last two years in High School. While I was attending University of Central Florida, I also did online tutoring specifically for math subjects. I know that I can teach this difficult subject in the simplest ways. Everyone I have helped told me they were surprised at how easy it is once I explain it to them. I love that I am able to teach a subject that seems difficult to most. I really want to get back into tutoring partly because I know the best way to lea... [more]

My name is Jerry and I've been tutoring all levels of HS and college Math and Physics for the past 7 years. I enjoy helping students, and my students like the way I explain hard to understand concepts in Math and Physics. I believe in a "simplistic" approach to teaching Math and Physics. I strive to teach Math and Physics without a lot of theoretical jargon and I teach a methodical approach to solving problems. While at the University of Arizona, I majored in Nuclear Engineering; I have a... [more]

Greetings, Personal development is a process that occurs at every stage of one?s life and allows one to realize a potential that arises within the heart of our boldest dreams. Tutoring offers a profound level of engagement, wherein both the student and the tutor define and refine goals along their pursuit of excellence. I agree with Howard Gardner?s conclusion that there are multiple learning styles, yet seek to define an accurate means to appeal to a student?s learning style in a man... [more]

Geometry is one of the oldest branches of mathematics. It involves many shapes and angles. How they are related and the formulas to solve them I have on a handout sheet that allows the student to find the correct one very easy. One thing the Geometry requires are "Proofs." These can be hard to solve, but a few examples makes them easier. I have taught math and financial planning for 14 years at the University of Phoenix at Las Vegas. I love to teach and tutor students in Math. The process of learning the necessary steps of solving problems is the "Key" to learning all math subjects. I belie [more]

I graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, with a secondary major of Pre-medicine, Summa Cum Laude, in just three years. I also scored above the 90th percentile when I took the MCAT exam following graduation. I haven taken extensive coursework in areas of biology including molecular biology, eukaryotic & cellular biology, genetics & physiology, molecular mechanisms of cancer, along with courses in evolution and animal behavior. In addition, I hav... [more]

In my teaching career, I have taught 1,000+ students in Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus! My students routinely grow their math skills by 3+ years in a single school year and regularly improve their grades from C?s and D?s to A?s! Not only that...but my students also report feeling significantly more confident in their math abilities and loving their math classes! In my 15+ years as a teacher, tutor, and mentor, I have worked with and taught over 1,000 students in numerous math subjects (Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, [more]

I use geometry in my PhD program frequently and I have a mathematics concentration for my bachelor's degree. I have my associates degree in chemistry, and am going for my bachelors of science in chemistry with a minor in environmental studies. I have some (though not a lot of) freelance tutoring experience. My tutoring style includes make-shift visualization of the material and step-by-step mathematical proofs with conceptual understanding in mind. I have some lab experience, and whenever appropriate, I will use my data from these labs as examples of how conclusions are made in science.... [more]

I am currently a counselor and I enjoy helping people. I graduated from University of Hawaii with a Sociology degree. I played football in college and I enjoy playing basketball and lifting weights at the gym on my free time. I moved out here to Las Vegas right after I graduated college and my first job out here was a PSR worker who worked with foster kids. My nieces and nephews hated math because they struggled on how to solve problems. I would make it simpler for them to understand it and m... [more]
