My matriculation through the University of Kansas' undergraduate(4 years) and graduate(2.5 years) mathematics academic programs has assisted in my passion for developing and supporting student's mathematical skill set. I am confident that my knowledge and experience qualify me as an excellent tutor. I am a professionally trained adept problem-solver, specializing in pure math. At the same time, my graduate program gives prominence to boosting one?s versatility and adaptability. Naturally... [more]

Geometry is a subject that is exciting due to all the real world applications it has. Solving proofs are like solving riddles. I highly enjoy showing students how to move from understanding two dimensional figures to three dimensional and have been known to even grab something off the shelf to demonstrate what they are looking at on the books page. Often students have difficulties visualizing a flat image on a page as a three dimensional object. I love being able to make these things come to life for students. [more]

Since I started teaching and training twenty years ago, I've loved helping people learn new things. Over the years, then, I've developed a style that is both easygoing and incredibly successful. A tutoring session with me will start with me working hard to understand where you are in relation to the assignment at hand. Soon, I'll be guiding you -- not answering the questions for you, but helping guide you to the answers yourself. I don't leave till you understand the questions at hand... [more]

I have been tutoring Geometry for about 6 years. Geometry is a math subject that took me a little longer to master as it requires a slightly different way of thinking than Algebra. However, the extra time it took me to master made me a better tutor in the subject as I understand the struggle that students are going through when they are not getting the concepts right away. Students struggling in geometry just need a little more time and somebody to explain the concepts in another way or ways, so that they can learn to approach the concepts and problems in the best way for them. As a math and science major, I am constantly learning new math and improving on old skills. I hope to continually add classe... [more]

I have graduate degrees in mathematics and biology and more than 20 years? experience teaching high school and college students; I have been tutoring for as long, especially in math, science, and writing. My experiences as an educator are diverse, having worked with students from many backgrounds, and I understand that a student?s challenges can be as much about the cultural context and learning atmosphere as about the subject matter. I have taught mainstream Americans, foreign students (both... [more]
