I have taught geometry courses during my student teaching four years ago. I enjoy teaching geometry concepts because of the shapes, angles, and proofs. I went to the University of Arizona to become a math teacher. I graduated in 2013 and I immediately got a job at Basis. I am currently in my 3rd year of teaching math at Basis. I teach 5th graders Pre-Algebra and I also teach 10th-12th Graders Linear Algebra and Number Theory. I have taught 5th graders Pre-Algebra for the past three years. I have taught Linear Algebra last year and this year and I have taught Number Theory for the first time th [more]

I am currently a junior studying mechanical engineering at the University of Arizona. I use math and science all day, every day, which I love! Math and science are my strongest subjects and my favorite ones too! I can help students with any level of math up through Calculus 2. And with science, I am able to provide tutoring for physics, high school biology classes, and basic chemistry. Additionally, I am available to provide ACT preparation tutoring as I scored a 34 on the ACT and have experi... [more]

As of now I have tutored three geometry students, and have been successful in helping them bring their grade to a point of satisfaction and greater. From my 8th grade year I have been tutoring class mates, siblings, family friends and anyone who needed aide in many subjects including: English language arts, Mathematics, Science, Art and Social Studies, and even in athletics such as Track and Field. The following subjects are some of my favorite subjects. In being a recent high school graduate, I cannot wait to help others and share with them that which I have myself learned. I believe that [more]

I have been teaching mathematics (in public schools) for the past 15 years. I love to teach students why math is important and how it will affect (in a positive way) the rest of their lives. I especially love tutoring math students one-on-one, because it allows me the ability to form a personal relationship as well as an academic connection. I can teach and motivate any child into loving mathematics. I have tutored many students throughout my career and my greatest accomplishment is hearing a... [more]

I am an experienced elementary & middle school teacher with 8 years of tutoring experience. My goal is that the student not only understand the material being learned, but also that they enjoy doing so! My Experiences include: 3 years as a middle school math... [more]

I'm Anna and I'm a senior in high school. I have always been a teacher, even before I fully understood that I was teaching. My specialty is one on one tutoring for concepts that have been previously taught to the student, but not understood. I help the student understand through patience and multiple explanations as needed, especially using pictures. I can bring my own whiteboard. I have specific tutoring experience working with 5th graders and high schoolers, but I also babysit for a muc... [more]

Hello. I am an aerospace engineer and currently working on a Masters. I once worked for summer academy, teaching aviation aeronautical sciences. In terms of my tutoring style, I like to use real world concepts and scenarios and apply them to the lesson at hand. I feel like this helps enforce "why" things are taught and need to be learned. I am often at the Oro Valley Library to work on my Masters. I am often traveling for work or personal reasons but I should be around most Fridays an... [more]

Hi! I?m Shivani, I?m a senior in systems engineering with a minor in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Arizona. I?m a total tech enthusiast and love sharing my knowledge in math and science. I have mostly tutored in math, predominately algebra. I have also been a counselor for high school engineering camps teaching kids about a range of engineering topics. My favorite part about tutoring/teachings is seeing that light bulb go off when a student makes the connection. It?... [more]

I have tutored 7th grade students through college aged students. One 7th grade female really struggled in math, but pictures and diagrams helped her differentiate between operations dealing with negative numbers. An 8th grade male studied with me over the course of two weeks and was accepted into the Air Force Academy. Most recently, a college aged female contacted me for a tutoring lesson during which we went over the midterm study guide for her upcoming exam in College Algebra. We both foun... [more]

Geometry is more than just shapes, angles, and proofs. It's everywhere in our lives, from architecture to woodworking to construction, 3D printing, and 3D modeling. When teaching my students Geometry, I find a topic that inspires that student and uses Geometry. In the process I make sure to cover the material they need to know for school or their exams in ways that they find interesting. I tailor my Geometry tutoring to each student. I tailor my lessons to the student, making it as enjoyable a learning experience as possible. More importantly, I tailor my instruction to the student's weak [more]
