Geometry is the study of shapes, dimensions, and orientation in environments of varying structure. Understanding geometry and the rules that govern it is a skill that can be learned by refining how one looks at the world around all of us. In the past 6 years, I have tutored students in algebra, geometry, calculus, and multi-variable calculus. My experience is abundant with regards to all age levels, including adults of over 40. Since I believe in teaching mathematics in an applied way, my tutoring approach is particularly well-suited for improvement in geometry. I hold a Master's in Applied [more]

If you were stranded on a deserted island, could you reinvent Algebra? Calculus? Trigonometry? I could! Not that that would be the most practical thing to do, but once you understand the basic concepts, you will be able to do the same. I am a strong believer in understanding concepts and knowing fundamentals, NOT in doing math by rote. I will certainly help you get your homework done and get better grades, but I will also make sure that you understand it! I teach students techniques... [more]

I began tutoring Algebra 2 in high school. I spent a semester tutoring Algebra and Geometry with the Sylvan Learning Center in Piedmont. I led after-school Algebra and Geometry tutoring at Oakland Tech. I attended UCSB, with studies abroad in Alaska, New Zealand, and India, and received a degree in Geography. I began tutoring math in high school and have always enjoyed teaching and working with students. As a substitute teacher, I worked at over 20 schools in the Bay Area, private and public, and saw the need for more individualized education. I led an after-school math program at Oakland [more]

2 years of tutoring experience I'm a premed molecular and cellular biology major at UC Berkeley. I just transferred from Moorpark College in fall 2017. I have a passion for helping people in any way I can, and I have found that tutoring is a great way for me to utilize this passion. I worked for a tutoring company in Agoura Hills, CA for almost 2 years but had to leave due to moving to Northern California to finish up my bachelors degree at UC Berkeley before attending medical school. I absolutely love when I see that ... [more]

As a math major, I was one of the few who took Geometry again in college, just to master it. I have been tutoring Geometry since 2004. Geometry is the first time many students learn about the abstract parts of mathematics and this can be difficult to wrap your head around. I enjoy making Geometry a little more understandable. I also am very good at constructions, thought that is usually only one chapter of the class. You will also get to learn the basics of a proof, and all about shapes. There is a lot of memorization in Geometry, which few students are prepared for. Hopefully w [more]

I am a retired high school math teacher in California. I taught high school algebra, pre-algebra, geometry, algebra 2 and a course called financial math, which I had the opportunity to create. I enjoy working with students who are motivated to learn. I enjoy curriculum development, and have received high marks in the curriculum I have helped develop. I would like to keep an active interest in education. I work well with students especially in a one-to-one situation. I look forward to work... [more]

Currently I am a teacher of Chemistry and Physics at a CA High School. Previously I have been an educational professional for 40 years, starting as a teacher of Math and Physics in High school to AP/1st year undergraduate level and I hold teaching credentials in both California and the UK. Later I taught Chemistry (the subject of my degree) to the same standard. I have many former students who have studied at the top UK Universities; Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol, Durham, Imperial London and so ... [more]

Hi my name is Craig and I love math. I graduated with honors from the University of California Santa Barbara, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences. Education is important to me as I feel it is the foundation for a successful life. I like to volunteer for my community, so teaching greatly appeals to me because it is rewarding and satisfying to see students progress through a difficult class or problem and be happy with their results. I love critical think... [more]
