The GMAT quantitative (math) test can be quite a challenge for those who haven't had a math class in a while. The good new is that the test involves only basic Algebra and Geometry concepts. The bad news is that the questions can be very difficult and calculator use is not permitted, so calculations have to be done by hand - yes, fractions too! In addition to tutoring, I've been developing and teaching GMAT math classes at the University of Texas at Dallas for several years. I enjoy sharing strategies about how to choose answer choices more accurately and quickly and helping students dust off [more]

As a graduate student, I understand that one of the hardest things is to actually get in and this is often because of the tests that are required. The key thing about standardized tests like GMAT is that it's not about residual knowledge but rather, it's about knowing the tips and shortcuts to answer the questions correctly and timely. As a graduate student, I understand this and I can help you develop a strategy to get high scores as well. I'm currently a graduate student working on my PhD at UT Arlington. I have a BS and MS in Chemistry and I also spent a year and a half teaching undergradu [more]

Having tutored GMAT quantitative mathematics quite a bit, explaining how to solve these word problems and the logic behind some of them is the key to passing this section of GMAT. Many students have problems with word problems, especially the type found in GMAT, and if English is their 2nd language, this becomes an even greater challenge. My ability to explain things simply and in a mathematical setting, is my expertise. I majored in engineering and minored in math. My career was in telecom/computers with extensive mathematical analytics. I tutor almost any college and high school math cou [more]
