Math and physics are both complex subjects that are built upon many years of scientists and mathematicians struggling with ideas. And in school, students are asked to tackle the same problems that faced Isaac Newton, Einstein, and others. They're not easy subjects and don't come easily to many people. In fact, they require many hours of practice and thought even for the people that are 'good' at them. And you may very well feel like it doesn't come naturally to you. Often the material in... I have over ten years of experience teaching and coaching for different organizations, colleges and universities. I have helped administer a tutoring program in St. Louis. I have had success in helping students with whom others were unable to achieve improvement. I get excited when I see students learn to love learning (especially math and literature). I began attending college when I was 15 years. I scored high enough on my ACT/SAT exams to earn a full tuition scholarship. I graduated from ... [more]

The quantitative portion of GMAT involves math (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and word problems. If it has been a while since you learned this material, it only requires review of the covered areas. I am an expert at this and have the needed material at hand. This same review is done for CBEST (as well as ACT and SAT if required.) The geometry is very basic plus no trig or calculus is required. The data sufficiency portion is found in no other test, so I teach the approaches and techniques needed, along with giving you quizzes and tests until you have the confidence to do well here. Because [more]

Hi Students, I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from UC Davis and I earned my MBA in Finance at CSU Hayward (East Bay). While I was at UC Davis, I placed 2nd in the Undergraduate Mathematics Exam and represented UC Davis in both the Putnam International Mathematics Competition and in the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Western Regional programming competition. While I love working as a consultant (more on that in a subsequent paragraph), I also really enjoy math and ha... [more]

The GMAT can be challenging even for highly successful students, because it is a demanding test. Not only does it cover four discrete content areas, but it includes math many students haven't seen or worked on in six years or longer. I have the expertise and experience to guide students in all areas of this test, including the essay. My goal is to teach my students *how* to learn so they no longer need to rely on me. In addition to three Clear California Teaching Credentials (Math, English, and Multiple Subject), I have many years of experience as a teacher. My primary love is language, but I [more]

I have been a tutor for more than 20 years. I have taught hundreds of students during this time. My students master the Math, English, and Test Preparation Skills required for standardized tests. I tutor for the ACT, PSAT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. Many of my students have done exceptionally well on these tests. I was the principal instructor for a major test preparation company for a number of years, and I am certified to teach test prep for the PSAT, ACT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. For more than ten years, I was an instructor for Math, Reading and Writing for a major after-school education program. As [more]

I have over 12 years of experience as a classroom teacher in Algebra I and Geometry in a middle school setting. I have also taught Geometry at the high school level as well as SAT Prep Math and US History. I have taught students from various socioeconomic and academic backgrounds and have found that the most important factors in student success are student desire to succeed and the teacher's time and ability to explain the subject matter in a way to facilitate student understanding. The ful... [more]

With me you can learn to master the basics, then b... [more]

I am an MBA from UCLA, with a strong background in math & statistics. I graduated with a GPA of 3.59, focusing on data-driven strategy & marketing, which means most of my courses were based on statistics. I come from an engineering background, and work as a Product Manager with a top technology company. I enjoy probability & statistics, both out of personal interest and as someone trying to get into Machine Learning. I enjoy teaching Probability & Statistics, and focus on teaching the und... [more]

I have been tutoring all levels of math for over 7 years now. I really enjoy math as a subject, and try to impart the fundamental concepts of math rather than trying to just teach the algorithms. Math really should be about understanding the logic behind it and less about route processes (we have computers for that). A bit about me. I currently do tutoring and statistical consulting full time. I worked at a Fortune 500 tech company for almost 2 years (doing math and statistics) but really e... [more]
