I have been a tutor for more than 20 years. I have taught hundreds of students during this time. My students master the Math, English, and Test Preparation Skills required for standardized tests. I tutor for the ACT, PSAT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. Many of my students have done exceptionally well on these tests. I was the principal instructor for a major test preparation company for a number of years, and I am certified to teach test prep for the PSAT, ACT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. For more than ten years, I was an instructor for Math, Reading and Writing for a major after-school education program. As [more]

I have been tutoring all levels of math for over 10 years now. I really enjoy math as a subject, and try to impart the fundamental concepts of math rather than trying to just teach the algorithms. Math really should be about understanding the logic behind it and less about route processes (we have computers for that). A bit about me. I currently do tutoring and statistical consulting full time. I worked at a Fortune 500 tech company for almost 2 years (doing math and statistics) but really ... [more]

My name is Ljiljana and I am a math professor with an extensive teaching/tutoring experience. I explore different teaching methods to help my students succeed in math and school in general. My tutoring lately is focused on SAT preparation, and pre-calculus classes, however I am open to all math levels tutoring. I consider myself an excellent educator and a very good mentor who is hard working, but also funny, friendly and easy to get along with. Feel free to contact me and ask about my s... [more]

Math and physics are both complex subjects that are built upon many years of scientists and mathematicians struggling with ideas. And in school, students are asked to tackle the same problems that faced Isaac Newton, Einstein, and others. They're not easy subjects and don't come easily to many people. In fact, they require many hours of practice and thought even for the people that are 'good' at them. And you may very well feel like it doesn't come naturally to you. Often the material in... The quantitative portion of GMAT involves math (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and word problems. If it has been a while since you learned this material, it only requires review of the covered areas. I am an expert at this and have the needed material at hand. This same review is done for CBEST (as well as ACT and SAT if required.) The geometry is very basic plus no trig or calculus is required. The data sufficiency portion is found in no other test, so I teach the approaches and techniques needed, along with giving you quizzes and tests until you have the confidence to do well here. Hi Students, I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from UC Davis and I earned my MBA in Finance at CSU Hayward (East Bay). While I was at UC Davis, I placed 2nd in the Undergraduate Mathematics Exam and represented UC Davis in both the Putnam International Mathematics Competition and in the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Western Regional programming competition. While I love working as a consultant (more on that in a subsequent paragraph), I also really enjoy math and ha... [more]

I have over ten years of experience teaching and coaching for different organizations, colleges and universities. I have helped administer a tutoring program in St. Louis. I have had success in helping students with whom others were unable to achieve improvement. I get excited when I see students learn to love learning (especially math and literature). I began attending college when I was 15 years. I scored high enough on my ACT/SAT exams to earn a full tuition scholarship. I graduated from ... [more]

Hi, I'm Dipti and I've been tutoring math and science for 10 years privately. I have taught middle school, high school, college, and graduate students in math and science as well as SAT, ACT, MCAT, PCAT, GRE, and GMAT prep. Physics is one of my favorite things to explain to struggling students! I graduated from the University of Connecticut with my undergraduate degree in Chemistry and from Brown University with my Masters in Urban Education. I have worked with students who already had a ... [more]

Your success is my goal. I work with you to expand on the strengths you already have and bridge any gaps we identify. I prefer to work with the books and materials you use in school so you can immediately apply the skills we build together. I do not give you the answers but rather show you how to become self-sufficient and an independent learner. I?ll teach you highly-effective study skills, best practices and how to develop a solid study program. You?ll learn how to plan ahead so you can fee... [more]

I achieved a 96% percentile score on the GMAT and I have helped over a dozen people prepare for the GMAT and subsequent business school applications. I have an MBA as well as a masters in education from Stanford and would consider myself an expert in the art and science of test taking. I have studied computer adaptive testing algorithms (this is the type of test that the GMAT is). I have strengths in Quantitative, Integrated Reasoning, and Analytical Writing, but I can also coach the Verbal aspect. [more]
