The GMAT is such an interesting and challenging test. Time is highly restricted and since it is a computer adaptive test, the test taker cannot move on to the next question until an answer has not been submitted. It is a matter of time management and a strategic approach to questions. Math knowledge for the quantitative section, in which I can help, is not expected to be no higher than High School level. Reasoning and logic will help you get to the other side. I successfully completed this test when applying to a top Business School, USC. [more]

*Currently only tutoring online and at 2 Starbucks locations near tutor. Hi, my name is Yan. I'm a math and Chinese tutor with 17 years of experience. I started tutoring both subjects while I was a college student myself. I got hired by the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and the Foreign Language Department in my school to tutor other college students in math and Chinese. I also worked as a TA in EOP's pre-college programs where I conducted classroom-sized tutoring sessions. Upon gr... [more]

I am certified in GMAT prep, as well as GRE, MCAT, and LSAT. I have scored above the 95th percentile on every standardized test I have taken. Standardized tests do not measure education or knowledge. They measure your ability to find the correct answer quickly, again and again. I can teach you to do that. I cherish every student, but I don?t necessarily want to build a long-term relationship with them. At the cost of tutoring, that is not a good deal for everyone. I will quickly fill in the gaps, get you caught up, and teach you how to deal with new concepts on your own. Later, if your [more]

I am familiar with the format of the GMAT examination, and the techniques necessary to perform well on the examination. As with other American standardized examinations, the GMAT purports to assess a person's competencies in basic academic subjects in the context of a multiple-choice format to determine his or her likelihood for success in post-graduate study. I am a full-time private tutor, specializing in English, primarily the SAT English & the ACT English, despite that I am also an SAT Math instructor at a private SAT institute. I've been tutoring people all my life and started officially doing it (for a fee) in high school. ... [more]

I have taken the GMAT and tutored it successfully. It is an important test for graduate school and the student should be aware of how it is scored and what it involves so they can be prepared. I taught math at Coastline Community College and also tutored Statistics for that department.
