I have been a tutor for more than 20 years. I have taught hundreds of students during this time. My students master the Math, English, and Test Preparation Skills required for standardized tests. I tutor for the ACT, PSAT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. Many of my students have done exceptionally well on these tests. I was the principal instructor for a major test preparation company for a number of years, and I am certified to teach test prep for the PSAT, ACT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. For more than ten years, I was an instructor for Math, Reading and Writing for a major after-school education program. As [more]

I have over 12 years of experience as a classroom teacher in Algebra I and Geometry in a middle school setting. I have also taught Geometry at the high school level as well as SAT Prep Math and US History. I have taught students from various socioeconomic and academic backgrounds and have found that the most important factors in student success are student desire to succeed and the teacher's time and ability to explain the subject matter in a way to facilitate student understanding. The ful... [more]

Math and physics are both complex subjects that are built upon many years of scientists and mathematicians struggling with ideas. And in school, students are asked to tackle the same problems that faced Isaac Newton, Einstein, and others. They're not easy subjects and don't come easily to many people. In fact, they require many hours of practice and thought even for the people that are 'good' at them. And you may very well feel like it doesn't come naturally to you. Often the material in... I've been a student and teacher for most of my adult life. I have two undergrad degrees - an Ass. in Applied Science (Coastal Mangement) and a BA (Anthropology and Religion). Then I have two research degrees, an Honours (a ridiculous degree type that only exists in Australia) and a Masters in international development. I received a full scholarship to UCSC to do my PhD in anthropology, and so have moved to this fine area, and am looking to complement my TA work there with other, more personal... [more]

I am a theoretical physicist, a maker, and an educator. I began studying mathematics and physics because I wanted to find out about how the world works. I studied mathematics and physics during my undergraduate training and then went on to grad school to earn my Ph.D. in physics. I tutored frequently during this time, mostly college students, some high school students and a couple of elementary school students. These days I spend much of my time teaching, programming and inventing. Thai food ... [more]

I have been tutoring all levels of math for over 7 years now. I really enjoy math as a subject, and try to impart the fundamental concepts of math rather than trying to just teach the algorithms. Math really should be about understanding the logic behind it and less about route processes (we have computers for that). A bit about me. I currently do tutoring and statistical consulting full time. I worked at a Fortune 500 tech company for almost 2 years (doing math and statistics) but really e... [more]

I am an MBA from UCLA, with a strong background in math & statistics. I graduated with a GPA of 3.59, focusing on data-driven strategy & marketing, which means most of my courses were based on statistics. I come from an engineering background, and work as a Product Manager with a top technology company. I enjoy probability & statistics, both out of personal interest and as someone trying to get into Machine Learning. I enjoy teaching Probability & Statistics, and focus on teaching the und... [more]

I have taught a few classes and tutored the GMAT for three large test preparation companies. In 2017 I have completed over 100 hours of individualized online GMAT tutoring. I scored in the 99th percentile on an official GMAT exam. I have extensive experience as a tutor and teacher. I prefer tutoring because I find that it works better for focusing on the needs of the student. Nevertheless, I recently worked as a secondary school teacher for a local high school district. The knowledge I acquired in my fields required years of intense studies. I learn and tutor concepts and fundamentals, not qu [more]

Hello there, I am originally from India and have love for Math and Computers since I was little. My grandfather was a Math professor and he cultivated the language of Math in me since the young age of 7. Initially I did Math to please him and then it became a passion and finally an addiction. I have secured excellent scores in tough SAT like examinations in India (top 0.05%) and in GRE-Math (100%) and pursued my PhD in Electrical Engineering at UC Santa Barbara with full scholarship. I was... [more]
