I am familiar with the format of the GMAT examination, and the techniques necessary to perform well on the examination. As with other American standardized examinations, the GMAT purports to assess a person's competencies in basic academic subjects in the context of a multiple-choice format to determine his or her likelihood for success in post-graduate study. I am formerly a reader/rater of the SAT standardized examination. I am presently a reader/rater of the California Assessment Science Test (CAST). Both the SAT and the CAST are developed by the College Board. [more]

I have taken the GMAT and tutored it successfully. It is an important test for graduate school and the student should be aware of how it is scored and what it involves so they can be prepared. I have been tutoring for 19 years. I started out at Goldenwest college in their math/computer lab and also their music department since I have degrees in both music and computer science with a minor in math. I taught math at Coastline Community College and also tutored Statistics for that department. The GMAT is such an interesting and challenging test. Time is highly restricted and since it is a computer adaptive test, the test taker cannot move on to the next question until an answer has not been submitted. It is a matter of time management and a strategic approach to questions. Math knowledge for the quantitative section, in which I can help, is not expected to be no higher than High School level. Reasoning and logic will help you get to the other side. I successfully completed this test when applying to a top Business School, USC. [more]

I also know that with that understanding, science can be easier than you imagined (and fun!). Each student is differen... [more]
