I have been a tutor for more than 20 years. I have taught hundreds of students during this time. My students master the Math, English, and Test Preparation Skills required for standardized tests. I tutor for the ACT, PSAT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. Many of my students have done exceptionally well on these tests. I was the principal instructor for a major test preparation company for a number of years, and I am certified to teach test prep for the PSAT, ACT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. For more than ten years, I was an instructor for Math, Reading and Writing for a major after-school education program. As [more]

I have been tutoring all levels of math for over 10 years now. I really enjoy math as a subject, and try to impart the fundamental concepts of math rather than trying to just teach the algorithms. Math really should be about understanding the logic behind it and less about route processes (we have computers for that). A bit about me. I currently do tutoring and statistical consulting full time. I worked at a Fortune 500 tech company for almost 2 years (doing math and statistics) but really ... [more]

The quantitative portion of GMAT involves math (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and word problems. If it has been a while since you learned this material, it only requires review of the covered areas. I am an expert at this and have the needed material at hand. This same review is done for CBEST (as well as ACT and SAT if required.) The geometry is very basic plus no trig or calculus is required. The data sufficiency portion is found in no other test, so I teach the approaches and techniques needed, along with giving you quizzes and tests until you have the confidence to do well here. I am currently teaching at high school. I have my PhD degree in Mathematics and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with students. Mathematics seems to be very hard for students to understand. What I do in my classes is to try to overcome that "fear" of math in my students mind. Then I do step by step explanation of every problem students have. If something is not clear we go through that part as many times as students need. Let's say that the patience is very important in teaching math. I have t... [more]
