Hi!! My name is Harry O. I have been tutoring high school and college students for the past six years. Previously I taught at Georgia Institute of Technology from which I received a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in Applied Mathematics. I have mastered skills in many diverse areas. Determination, confidence, and knowing how to study have been the keys to my success. I focus on helping my students build these fundamental attributes in addition to learning the subject. After 14 years in government-sponsored research, I turned to education out of the desire to work in a more people-centric field. I have been an adjunct math instructor at Harper College for the past nine years. I have taught math courses to students ... [more]

The general test of the GRE is similar to the ACT or SAT (but the specialized subject area tests are much tougher). After the general test, I took the specialized test for math. I can help prepare you for the general test of the GRE (to prepare for a specialized test, find a tutor with a masters in that area). I have taught at 7 different colleges (public, private, and technical). I received awards for my teaching based on student evaluations - mostly because I am patient and take time to tutor students having trouble. I have also written high school math textbooks. I know math and I want to h [more]

I am a top 5% scorer in all areas of the GRE. I have tutored for the GRE at the Princeton Review, and independently, both with great success. This is a difficult test, and I *highly* recommend going with a tutor with actual GRE experience. Make sure you ask the prospective tutor how they did on the exam! :) I absolutely love helping students succeed, and have been involved in the field of education since the late 1990s. I am an expert on local history, and have experience working for an educational publishing company, where I worked in the field of research and fact-checking. I have contr [more]

I enjoy reading and writing. I have a strong grasp on grammar, spelling and other related issues to English. I also have taken many entrance exams over the years such as GRE, LSAT, etc. I mostly work with students now on the ACT, SAT, & GRE. For the ACT, we will go over content that you must know for English & Math. For ex, there are specific reasons when to use a comma. Most likely, you were never taught that. In order to improve your score on the English section, you must learn and study that content. We will work on specific strategies for the Reading and Science sections. Once y [more]

I always believe in people that has been my one trait from childhood. I think that every tutor should always believe in his or her pupil. They should believe that their pupil has the capability to do anything and its their responsibility to guide them there. My teachers have always inspired me and I hope to leave the same impression on my pupils. I have done a masters in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University. I have plenty of teaching experience from my grad and undergrad per... [more]

I am a professional tutor with over 25 years of experience. I have tutored most subjects and have always delivered outstanding results. My students have improved their grades by 2-3 letter grades within 3-4 sessions on average. I have an excellent track record with references to support it with referrals from Principals and former student's parents. Seeing is believing. I am very attentive when I tutor and quickly understand when a student is confused. I very clearly explain concepts in a... [more]
