I took the GRE exam as part of my admission to a Materials Science graduate program at UC Berkeley which at the time as a top three program. I had a near perfect score on the math portion of the test. In addition to teaching the concepts behind the math portion of the GRE I give my students test taking techniques that allow them to maximize their score. Background I?ve always had a passion for teaching and working with young people, and I want to share my love for math and science with others. I believe that students can learn difficult concepts best in a one on one environment. The stu [more]

The GRE is use is to compare students from different colleges so admissions has a better idea what your GPA means. A major difference from most other tests is that this test is done on a computer, so all your scratch work needs to be done on the 6 pages of scratch paper you are provided. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a three hour forty five minute, multiple choice, and multi stage test required by most graduate schools. There are six sections to the test. GRE verbal part of the exam tests vocabulary primarily in context, and with extensive reading comprehension. GRE math (quantitative) tests basic math concepts up to Geometry 1. [more]

With GRE scores in the 95th percentile, I have a great understanding of the test, especially after being tutored myself. The GRE can often be quite tricky, and knowing what kinds of questions you'll get is just as important as studying vocabulary or math concepts. Currently, I?m working on a Master?s program in Library and Information Science, but I am also a recent graduate of UC Davis where I received my Bachelor of Arts in History with an emphasis on Medieval and Early Mod [more]

I prefer to work with families and students who value education; I'm not so interested in assisting someone whose only concern is passing tomorrow's test. A student who insists on simply being told the steps to solve a particular homework problem, who is... [more]
