I consider myself a GRE expert in all of the question types. I can provide an entire course or act as a supplement to your current studies. Knowing the cues that should alert the student to which princip [more]

It may seem strange to begin with a statistic, but I trust you will agree it's not wholly inappropriate. During the 2009-2010 school year, my 11 AP Chemistry students had a 100% pass rate with the following score distribution: Seven of them scored a 5, three scored a 4, and one scored a 3. The high scores are greater than three times the national average. What makes this even more impressive is that I only saw my students an average of 2.5 times per week (2 days one week, 3 days the next, alt... [more]

Hi! I'm Vincent, a recent graduate of Harvard University who moved to Los Angeles a few months ago. I've had lots of experience tutoring a wide variety of math subjects. I've done in-home tutoring in Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. Not only that, but I've worked professionally as a group tutor for first-year college Physics. Prior to getting my graduate degree at Harvard, I attended Pomona College in Claremont, CA, where I earned a 3.8 GPA. While at Pomona I was able to m... [more]

I have experience in all aspects of Algebra. That comes from tutoring Algebra 1, Algebra 2, SAT Math, ACT Math and GRE Math. I have taught algebra in a classroom, a learning center and one-on-one. Areas of expertise include functions, FOIL, factoring, direct/inverse variation, logarithms, absolute value and inequalities. It's all about finding X or whatever the question asks for! For GRE, I have tutoring the reading sections as well. I am an experienced (1700+ hours) tutor certified in over 30 subjects. I'm a college graduate of Tufts University, Medford, MA and have passed my CBEST having wo [more]

Currently finishing up on my PhD at UCLA in plasma physics, I love being able to give back some of my knowledge by helping out students with math/physics coursework. I have tutored throughout my undergraduate and graduate education, and have been a TA for introductory undergraduate physics courses. I understand that many become discouraged from continuing in physics/math because they are disillusioned with the coursework, so I work on approaching problems from different methods in order to fi... My greatest experience with the GRE is with teaching the math section. Oftentimes adult students haven't seen a right triangle in ten years, and may need a brush up on basic math skills. I use drills and worksheets to help students regain their prior proficiency in these basic skills, as well as learn a few new ones necessary for this particular test. I also have experience teaching the verbal (as well as writing) section, though now that the test has been revised, there are unfortunately fewer typical multiple choice tricks one can use (namely-- process of elimination). However, I can gui [more]

I have achieved a perfect score on the official GRE, in each the quantitative, verbal, and writing sections. What's more, I have taught numerous classes and individual students in the subject for over 8 years, imparting my methodology, strategy, and substantive knowledge in each of the sub-disciplines. I have helped students improve scores from the lower quartile to the second and third quartiles; likewise, I have helped students from the middle quartiles reach the top quartile, including a handful of students who obtained perfect scores in one of the three subsets! I am an alum of Duke University eager to help students reach their academic potential. I have six years of experience tutoring: I was part of a math mentorship program for middle school students during my senior year of high school. During my freshman year of college, I tutored elementary school students in low-income neighborhoods through a program called Project CHILD. Since I finished my undergrad education, I have been tutoring high school students independently in geometry, algebra 2, ... [more]

After graduating from UC Berkeley, I took the GRE and my Verbal Reasoning score was in the 96th percentile, while my Quantitative Reasoning score was in the 93rd percentile. More recently, I prepared for the GMAT on my own and scored a 740 (97th percentile) on the first try. Before beginning my MBA at UCLA Anderson and while a student there, I helped scores of men and women prepare for the GMAT, GRE and SAT to get into the schools of their dreams. I completed my MBA at UCLA Anderson in July, 2015. [more]

I have always loved teaching languages, because I love learning them and using them. I have tutored for French at all levels and Spanish, Italian and Hebrew for all beginning and intermediate students. My first language is English, so I know how to give explanations for things that will make sense to an English speaker. I have also tutored people in English grammar and vocabulary and ESL. Several times, I have prepared high school students for their ACT and SAT exams, and have worked with the... [more]
