I have over 10 years of experience tutoring various subjects and have worked at least five years preparing students for entrance exams, ranging from SAT and ACT to GRE and ISEE. The Math section of the GRE is definitely my favorite! It is certainly challenging, but I have had success in teaching students the concepts necessary for them to ace the exam! Instead of simply teaching students how to "trick" the test, I teach the concepts that are integral to a good score and success once admitted into the intended program of study. [more]

I achieved a perfect score of 800 on GRE Math while applying for Ph.D. programs in Mathematics Education. Since then, I have guided many students to improving their performance on the mathematics portion of the GRE as well as GMAT. I offer clear explanations tailored to the learner. I enjoy demonstrating the process of building the relevant concepts at hand, so that the learner is guided as if by an usher, shedding light to the path ahead through the aisles of a dark auditorium to swiftly arrive at the seat at the start of a performance. As a private tutor, academic mentor, community outreac [more]

The GRE quantitative (math) test can be a challenge , especially for those who haven't had a math class in a while. The good new is that the test involves only basic Algebra and Geometry concepts. The bad news is that the questions can be very difficult and asked in an unfamiliar manner. In addition to tutoring, I've been developing and teaching GRE math classes at the University of Texas at Dallas for several years. I enjoy sharing strategies about how to choose answer choices more accurately and quickly and helping students shore up the basic math principles they might not have had to use i [more]
