I'm a Ph.D. physicist at Fermi National Labs, working on the CMS experiment at CERN. I have degrees in physics and electrical engineering, as well as a minor in math. I've taught seven college physics classes, as well as a college calculus class. I've tutored math and physics on and off for the past 16 years, including college, SAT, high school, and middle school students. I am a top 5% scorer in all areas of the GRE. I have tutored for the GRE at the Princeton Review, and independently, both with great success. I am an expert on local history, and have experience working for an educational publishing company, where I worked in the field of research and fact-checking. I have contr [more]

The general test of the GRE is similar to the ACT or SAT (but the specialized subject area tests are much tougher). After the general test, I took the specialized test for math. I can help prepare you for the general test of the GRE (to prepare for a specialized test, find a tutor with a masters in that area). I have taught at 7 different colleges (public, private, and technical). I received awards for my teaching based on student evaluations - mostly because I am patient and take time to tutor students having trouble. I have also written high school math textbooks. I know math and I want to h [more]

My teaching style reflects my primary area of study. Rather than through brute memorization, genuine understanding is promoted by thinking through relevant information and its implications. In short, facts are useless without systematization--it's only when they're processed properly that they produce something ... [more]
