I took the GRE exam as part of my admission to a Materials Science graduate program at UC Berkeley which at the time as a top three program. I had a near perfect score on the math portion of the test. In addition to teaching the concepts behind the math portion of the GRE I give my students test taking techniques that allow them to maximize their score. Background I?ve always had a passion for teaching and working with young people, and I want to share my love for math and science with others. I believe that students can learn difficult concepts best in a one on one environment. The stu [more]

I have been teaching GRE prep for 25 years. I was the principal instructor for a major test preparation company for a number of years, and I am certified to teach test prep for the PSAT, ACT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. For more than ten years, I was an instructor for Math, Reading and Writing for a major after-school education program. As an Aerospace Engineer and Professional Tutor, I am fully qualified to tutor Math from elementary mathematics through Algebra II and Geometry, and Reading and Writing from phonics and grammar through colleg... I have been tutoring all levels of math for over 7 years now. I really enjoy math as a subject, and try to impart the fundamental concepts of math rather than trying to just teach the algorithms. Math really should be about understanding the logic behind it and less about route processes (we have computers for that). A bit about me. I currently do tutoring and statistical consulting full time. I worked at a Fortune 500 tech company for almost 2 years (doing math and statistics) but really e... [more]

I am offering lessons in all levels of math from Middle School to High School level and SAT Math preparation. I have taught and mentored students at high school math and physics clubs in addition to individual tutoring at all levels from middle school to high school. I have a Master's in Statistics with a cognate in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Before that I received M.Stat degree in Operations Research and Statistical Quality Control from the prestigious I... [more]

With GRE scores in the 95th percentile, I have a great understanding of the test, especially after being tutored myself. Years of tutoring others have helped me understand it more thoroughly, and more importantly, how to teach it to others. The GRE can often be quite tricky, and knowing what kinds of questions you'll get is just as important as studying vocabulary or math concepts. Currently, I?m working on a Master?s program in Library and Information Science, but I am also a recent graduate of UC Davis where I received my Bachelor of Arts in History with an emphasis on Medieval and Early Mod [more]

The GRE is use is to compare students from different colleges so admissions has a better idea what your GPA means. A major difference from most other tests is that this test is done on a computer, so all your scratch work needs to be done on the 6 pages of scratch paper you are provided. (It you need more, it may take a while before the administrators get to you.) The big difference is that the computer looks at what you do on the first section of a test to determine whether in the second section you will be given easy, medium, or hard questions. So the first part is very important in determ [more]

I am an excellent and experienced tutor in all levels of Mathematics and Physics - ranging from Basic to Advanced. I have been tutoring for over 20 years. I hold a Degree both in Physics and Mathematics from U.C. Berkeley. I have developed and implemented several learning models that are customized to each student?s learning ability and style of learning. Among other methods, I specialize in using teaching techniques that do not require memorization but instead make use of mnemonics and oth... [more]

Hi! I'm enthusiastic about helping young people become outstanding students by assisting with writing skills and tutoring in math and physics. I'm most interested in improving reasoning and communication skills essential for academic success. I prefer to work with families and students who value education; I'm not so interested in assisting someone whose only concern is passing tomorrow's test. A student who insists on simply being told the steps to solve a particular homework problem, who is... [more]

I enjoy teaching and this is a passion that is a very big part of my life and something that I am good at. I hold a Master's Degree in Operations Research, so in short I am very good at all math applications and optimization. I have tutored since I was in high school and my students were successful in not simply solving equation but understanding the principles and extending the knowledge to unknown and never before seen problems. My teaching style is structured and I prefer to have a pl... [more]

I'm a 4th year physics major at UCSB in CCS (College of Creative Studies) which is sometimes described as a graduate school for undergrads. I'm proficient in the following physics material: Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Waves, Statistical Mechanics, Particle Physics, Condensed Matter, Special Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics. I currently help teach the Quantum Mechanics course at UCSB and have been a grader for the past 2 years. I currently work in a materials lab studying the electro/magneti... [more]
