I was born and raised in France, were I studied biology. During that time, I spent some time tutoring children who needed some help in math and loved sharing their excitement when I helped them make sense of something that at first seemed hard. I decided when I was seven years old that I wanted to travel the world. When traveling with my parents, I felt like knowing the local language was a bit like magic, it opened doors and sparked conversation with amazing people. I graduated high school a... [more]

U of O Honors Grad Offering Spanish, Italian, & Writing Tutoring

I began to teach myself Italian, funnily enough, during a visit to Belgium. Brussels has a multi-ethnic community comprised of refugees from Northern Africa to World War II era Italians who wanted no part of Benito Mussolini's regime. Some of these aforementioned Italians instilled in me what pride Italians abroad take in their heritage and spurred me on to teach myself the language. From there I took two years of Italian courses at the University of Oregon, receiving A and A+s in all of them. I later took an Italian proficiency exam with the department to certify myself in the language. [more]
