I have studied Japanese as a 2nd language for over ten years. I studied abroad in Nagasaki, Japan between April and August of 2012. While there I tested into the 5th level of Japanese (of which 8 is the max) and have done translation and interpreting both in Japan and out. I am a student of applied linguistics and Italian language who has had multiple (7+) semesters of college level Russian, multiple semesters of Italian and am self taught in Japanese. With Japanese, I would be teaching through the book series, Japanese: the Spoken Language and its accompanying software. I have found it extremely useful in my studies and has brought my fluency with the language up significantly. I also plan on using Manga, Anime, flash cards, Anki and lots of conversation to support the language learning process. It's a lot of fun. Hello there, My name is Corey. I am an OSU student on summer break looking to find some fine minds with which to share my passions. At school I am majoring in Japanese language and art education. Japanese Language Through Culture

I studied in Tokyo during the massive earthquake/tsunami, joining the university's taiko drumming team and Soran Bushi dance group. Later, I moved to Mie-ken (southern Japan) where I taught English in Japanese public schools and private groups for 2 years, all the while traveling around the country and learning as much as I could. I love sharing the traditions of the culture with the modern movements during lessons. I also passed the N2 (second highest level) of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in December of 2015. [more]
