I attended MDC and graduated from there with an A.A. in Electrical Engineering. While I was there, I used to tutor my classmates in Algebra and Pre-Calculus. That's where I discovered that I had a talent at teaching. Now that I am at FIU, I have been an LA teaching programming 1 (Java) and programming 3 (C). I enjoy teaching it, especially when I see that my students understand the difference and are able to place their skills to the test. I don't like to give out the answer to problem... [more]

I wrote some of the first Java code to be accepted in American Express. I wrote Java code for about 5 years and ran a staff of about 20 coders. If you are programming correctly, Java is FUN. Getting the idiosyncrasies of the syntax is the first step, and learning to write pseudocode helps tremendously. If you can't construct the problem in natural language, you are going to have a really hard time working it out in code. Looking forward to helping you learn this great programming language. [more]
