Programming is a fun way to try out different kinds of algorithms in math, such as the Fibonacci Series, sorting numbers, searching through a set of data. You really don't have to know a great deal of technical information to get started in programming, especially in Java, and you will be surprised how much you can do with just a little bit of this knowledge. I can understand why a lot of students these days fall behind or lose interest in math.
