I have tutored college algebra for three years. I have even been given the opportunity to cover evening algebra classes when an instructor could not make it to class for a review night. I love y=mx+b because it is a beautiful equation and the slope intercept formula is not so bad once you know what vale is which variable letter. Slopes are not so bad once you play with them and get the idea. It is really just getting the core idea down and then applying it to the work you already know how to do. [more]

During my B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. I took a series of two courses called Linear Algebra and Linear Transformations. LT was just LA with more theory and more depth. LT was moving towards a graduate dimension theory course. I've taught math in the classroom in Colorado. I've been tutoring since I was in high school myself. I have many different ways to approach different concepts and can probably find the best way for your needs. I've had great success teaching students everything from beginning fractions through all of high school math throug [more]

Linear Algebra in an area of mathematics that studies matrices, how they are used, and what can be done with them to solve a problem. They are mostly used for solving a system of equations in order to determine the answers. I have studied many areas of LA, not only the theoretical part but also the application's part. My major application area has been in engineering and related math and science areas. I am able to help a student understand so that he can do the work without any assistance. [more]

I have a Ph.D. In physics, which requires a deep understanding of linear algebra. My research work was in computational physics, which makes use of linear algebra. I have used the techniques of linear algebra extensively in modeling and simulation work in my career. I'm currently tutoring at levels of mathematics below and above linear algebra. I have a Ph.D. in physics and chemistry, a Master's degree in physics, and an honors Bachelor of Science degree in physics with a minor in mathematics. My dissertation work involved computational solid-state theory, which allowed me to further develop s [more]

I have my MS in Management Science from CWRU's Weatherhead School of Management (my PhD is also from CWRU in the field of Mathematical Modeling). My core is in Operations Research with a concentration in Operations Management. I have taken linear algebra, linear programming, and advanced non-linear discrete optimization. I am dedicated to providing the best mathematical instruction possible. I received academic scholarships for all three of my college degrees, BA-MSMS-PhD. My doctorate is in Systems Engineering from the Case School of Engineering. My specialty is multi-level hierarchical model [more]

I have an undergraduate degree in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in math and science. I am certified to teach grades 4-9. I have 10 years of teaching experience, mainly in pre-algebra/algebra. Hi there! I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Dayton in 2006. Since then I have taught in both North Carolina and Ohio. I have taught both math and science, mostly in grades 7 and 8, but my true passion is in math. Most recently I was the e-learning adviser for a local high school so I also have experience in digital education. I have 10 years of math teaching experience a [more]

Linear Algebra is the study of linear sets of equations and their transformation properties. Leading up to this course the student has dealt extensively with linear equations primarily concerning calculations and some application word problems. A good foundation in Calculus is helpful. Linear Algebra will delve deep into the theory of linear equations. Topics include, but are not limited to linear systems, Gauss method, vector spaces, linear maps computing, matrices, determinants, eigenvectors, eigenvalues, projections and techniques of proofs. I have taken linear algebra, received an A, Linear Algebra II, and Advanced Linear Algebra, and of course the various courses which used Linear Algebra. Differential Geometry was very much based on linear algebra, and I received an A- in this, as well as Algebraic topology, which had an algebraic perspective. I spent my undergraduate career working with the tutoring and academic success center at Cleveland state, and the math (only) tutoring center through the math department. I found, like many others, that it is a profoundly rewarding experience. My philosophy is simple, 'understanding is kn [more]
