I received a Bachelors on Science degree from University of California at Berkeley where linear algebra was part of the core curriculum. I then continued my education and obtained a Masters in Science degree from California State University East Bay in applied mathematics where I took more advanced courses in linear algebra. I am currently teaching at Metropolitan State University of Denver and teach many of the topics that are covered in linear algebra. This semester I am teaching Computational Matrix Algebra which is entirely linear algebra. [more]

Seeing the world through the use of linear models helps shed light on the mysteries around us and enriches each student with greater understanding of mathematics. I have a BS in Secondary Education with 36 hours of mathematics including Linear Algebra in which I recheived an A in. I have also taken graduate level classes in Math education through a grant by University of Texas A and M. I have taught Algebra through Pre-Calculus for 5 years and tutored all levels of college math for 4 years. I enjoy helping a student see the fun and excitement in learning that he or she can be good at math. [more]

Hi, I'm Josh. I moved to Denver after 3 years working in the finance industry. I work as a quantitative analyst, so I get to do math everyday as part of my work. I had taught mathematics for 6 years prior. Also, I have also worked at a private mathematics tutor during this time and have had at least 20 students (I didn't keep count). I'm looking for tutoring gigs because I miss teaching; I feel like it was a skill that I developed that I do not get to use in my current job at all. I ha... [more]

I have taken linear algebra courses as both an undergraduate and a graduate student and done well in them. I studied physics as an undergraduate which uses large amounts of linear algebra. My name is Alex. I am a 25 year old graduate student in mathematics at CU Denver. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in physics and a B.A. in mathematics. I feel most comfortable tutoring in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations because I use these subjects almost daily. I tutored off and on for 5 years during [more]

I passed a linear algebra class in college with a 94 average and tutored my peers in linear algebra during my junior and senior year. Hello! My name is Caroline, I'm a certified teacher in math for grades 5-12 and have knowledge in many other areas. I have 7 combined years of tutor and teaching experience. By teaching students one-on-one I can easily assess the student's needs. I believe that using many different approaches to teaching is necessary to help every student understand the material. Mathematics is actually fun, provided one understands the logic behind the subject. Math not only [more]

Took linear algebra and received an A+ at CSU-Fullerton. I have a minor in abstract mathematics and currently an MD-PhD student, so using math on a weekly basis is normal for me. I am a fourth-year MD-PhD candidate with a B.S. in Cellular and Developmental Biology and two minors in Chemistry and Mathematics. My standardized test scores were always strong: SAT 1550/1600, MCAT 41/45, and GMAT 780/800. Those scores are within the 99%-tile. Why is this important? As opposed to class tests where the teacher designs a class geared towards leading you to an answer, standardized tests are designed t [more]

I took a college level Linear Algebra course. Engineering courses rely heavily on Linear Algebra concepts. My name is David, but you can call me Mr. Number Cruncher. I have over 10 years of experience working in the field of Electrical Engineering. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from LeTourneau University and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University. My GPA for each degree was above 3.5. Along with my WyzAnt tutoring experience, I have almost three years of online tutoring experience as a certified Tutor.com Alg [more]

I have taken and passed both undergraduate and graduate linear algebra courses. For a project in the graduate linear algebra course I developed an algorithm for finding generalized eigenvectors, and the Jordan-canonical form of a matrix. Two of the courses I teach on a regular basis have chapters devoted to matrices. I love math but more than that I love when I can change someone's mind about math. I hear over and over phrases such as; "I can't do math", "I don't have a math brain", or "I wish I could get math". I have good news, those statements are not true. Anyone can be good at math, it [more]

I'm in my second year of working on my PhD in mathematics. My interests are in the foundations of mathematics, specifically non-standard set theory and mathematical logic. I am also very passionate about mathematics education, and enjoy discussing material with students as well as coming up with new lessons and teaching methodologies. I have several years of experience as a teaching assistant for college mathematics, and I am skilled at working with students one on one. I am confident tha... [more]

I have taken Graduate-level courses in Linear Algebra and have also applied the Linear Algebra in my research in UAHuntsville and Syracuse University. I was a Computer Science research scholar at Syracuse University with a focus in Neural Networks and Machine Learning. What I bring to this position are skills in computer science, an experience of 6 years of teaching Math, programming languages C++, JAVA and VB6 to students in middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate schools, and 3 years of professional experience of developing software. In Summer 2014, I taught Math to gifted [more]
