I completed the course Linear Algebra at Appalachian State University in the fall of 2011 and received a course average of an 'A'. In fall 2013 I tutored a fellow student in Linear Algebra. I worked with this student in particular on a review of matrices before moving on to the higher level topics within this course. Growing up with my mom as a first grade teacher, teaching has been around me my whole life. From a young age, I have enjoyed attending summer school with my mom and helping to tutor students. Over the past 15 years, I have found time every year to go into my mother's classroom an [more]

I teach Math 1 at my current job. I am a certified teacher and have taught the subject for the last 10 years. I have had 100% passage in my classes the last 6 years. I am currently a high school Math teacher and I have taught for 19 years. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 5th and 8th grades as well. I have a bachelors degree in Elementary and Middle grades with concentration in Math and Science and a Masters degree in Reading Curriculum and Instruction. I have also taught Developmental Reading and Math at the community college level. I have tutored students from early elementary to College. It would b [more]

While receiving my mathematics education at UNCW I took Linear Algebra and Matrices as one of my classes. From taking this courses and studying with classmates, I have many mnemonic devices to help assist with theorems, formulas, conversions, etc. Linear Algebra contains a lot of work with matrices and combinations of multiple matrices. This course also requires students to pull their knowledge of piecewise functions from Math 2. My time that I currently spend teaching and tutoring in these Math 2/PreCalc Classes allows me to keep information that students will need in linear algebra fresh in [more]

I have a PhD in applied mathematics with concentration in Computational mathematics and MS in applied math. My BS is a double major in Math and Statistics. I have over 12 years experience teaching math at the university level. I have taught Linear Algebra at the college level for several semesters already. I am an applied mathematician and teaching and directing students come natural to me. I have over 10 years of teaching experience at the University level in various areas of Mathematics such as Basic Mathematics, Engineering Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Calculus, quantitative methods [more]

I have passed the Praxis Middle math exam with a score of 177. The national standard is 165. I have spent a half year teaching I integrated math 2 and 3. I am currently a teacher with Montgomery County Schools. I have over 8 years teaching in the public school system and am new to the Christiansburg area. I love teaching math and used to be a struggling math student myself so I now approach my tutoring with all these things in mind. When students struggle in algebra it is generally because they struggle with the basics. I would patiently review order of operations and integers rules as wel [more]

I have taught all three of my children linear algebra in support of their homeschooling. In pursuit of my engineering degree, I utilized linear algebra in many of my classes including physics and mechanical engineering classes. I earned my BS in Electrical Engineering in '92. My teaching experience includes two years as a faculty member at Wake Technical Community College teaching electrical, electronics, mechanical, safety, and MS office classes. I love to read, write, and teach. My passion is to explain not only how to resolve problems but also about application. I was two classes shy [more]

Linear Algebra generally consists of solving systems of linear equations, using matrices, and vectors. It is a bit more complex than what you may find in Algebra 2 and physics. It may include several variables at one time. My name is Claytonia W., and I have years of experience in a wide range of math and science. I have owned my own business for the last 12 years in Charlotte NC. I have been involved in all aspects of the company, including marketing, web design and operations. My expertise is in math and science. I was a pre-med student at the undergraduate level where I received a degr [more]

I have taken numerous courses in linear or matrix algebra. Additionally I have successfully taken several courses in operations research, including linear, non-linear and dynamic programming, all of which require listing constraints as well as the objective function in matrix format. I convey to students that not only is math fun but that everything in life involves math in one form or another. I emphasize that math is a process of getting from point A to point B. I stress that understanding the process and being able to duplicate the process is more critical than just getting the correct answe [more]

Like all mathematics subjects I offer, I have completed advanced coursework in linear algebra. Further, because many topics in physics and differential equations make heavy use of linear algebra, I have much experience tutoring the subject as a companion to other courses. My name is Mike, and I am currently in Physics Education Research at NC State. I have a bachelor's in Physics and a master's in Acoustics, as well as over 5 years of physics tutoring experience. I have the ability to explain complex topics simply and clearly, as I focus on problem solving and critical thinking over memorizing [more]

In my time as an undergraduate and thereafter, a graduate student in mathematics, I have taken and passed courses in Linear Algebra. I have also tutored many students not only in this subject, but also in related fields such as Numerical Analysis and Differential Equations. This beautiful subject is best taught, in my opinion, with an emphasis on concrete application and a fair amount of hand computation. But it also serves as a testing ground for more abstract thinking, via proofs of "theoretical" results, as well as being well-suited for cross-disciplinary examples from physics, statistic [more]
