I have taught several courses to Engineering undergraduates and graduate students at Purdue University and Brown University. An active area in which I pursue research is the numerical solution of partial differential equations describing materials behavior. This entails a detailed understanding of linear algebra. I can offer lessons in the basics of vectors and matrices, solutions of systems of linear equations using matrix methods, algorithms for numerical solution of systems of linear equations. I can also offer lessons on advanced topics such as Jordan canonical forms. [more]

Hi, I'm Jim! I went to school at the University of Pittsburgh for my Bachelors degree in Mathematics, the I went to Wright State University for my Master's degree, and finally attended Purdue University for my PhD. While working on my last degree, I received the Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award. At each school I learned many things and picked up a wide range of skills from my professors in every subject. I remember more about the professors than I do about some of my classes, but d... Greetings, I would begin by providing a brief bit recounting my academic background. I am a fourth year PhD student in nuclear engineering at Purdue University. My thesis pertains to laser-driven plasma physics relating to inertial confinement fusion and photolithography. My research and studies demand a strong understanding of math, physics, and chemistry which I employ every day within real research initiatives. Personally, I am an agreeable individual who is patient in my approach to... [more]

I have succeeded in many courses requiring skill in linear algebra, including graduate level courses such as differential topology, representation theory, and abstract algebra. Additionally, I've tutored many undergraduate students in linear algebra. I am a Math Ph.D student with several years of tutoring experience. I think math is beautiful and am committed to helping students experience the joy of mathematical discovery for themselves! My approach to tutoring is the following: - identifying what concepts a student is having difficulty with, trying to figure out exactly why, and then asking [more]

I have completed undergraduate and graduate coursework in linear algebra as part of my study at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, I have applied linear algebra techniques as part of graduate engineering courses in control theory. I am a 2010 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I earned a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering. Since then, I have spent most of my time as a management consultant to engineering companies, but have also worked as a mathematics instructor and volunteered for a Battlebot engineering team. During high s [more]

I have been pursuing computational fluid dynamics for reacting as well as non-reacting flow for the last 6 years. I am passionate about fundamental physics and mathematics and in future I plan to work more in this field as well as teach my juniors and encourage them to understand the beautiful facts and theories behind nature. My name is Utsav and currently I develop computational model for liquid propulsion in aircraft as well as rockets. I have a vast experience in fluid dynamics and I have taught robotics and fluid dynamics to many students before. What makes me unique is my expertise in [more]

I have taken a graduate level course at Purdue University in Linear Algebra and passed with an A. Topics from the course that I'm familiar with include: real and complex vector spaces; linear transformations; Gram-Schmidt process and projections; least squares; QR and LU factorization; diagonalization; quadratic forms. I recently graduated from Purdue University with my master's in mechanical engineering. I did my undergraduate studies in the same field at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and worked as a tutor for the Homework Hotline. I tutored for 3 years at the homework hotline helping [more]

I took two linear algebra courses in college and earned an A+ and A, respectively. I majored in math with a 3.97 GPA. I also TA'd a math methods physics course in grad school, which included linear algebra. I can tutor any physics, mathematics, or astronomy course except real analysis. I can also tutor elementary French, English, introductory psychology, and general chemistry. In addition to tutoring, I can teach beginning piano lessons.
