I received a B.S.E.E. from University of Maryland in College Park, MD in 1985, as requirement for the US Air Force Commissioning Program. While attending Maryland, I tutored privately in the following subjects: College Math, to include Calculus, Analytic Geometry, and Linear Algebra; Electronics; Circuit Analysis; Mechanics; and Dynamics. I took required Math courses in my Electrical Engineering curriculum, such as: Calculus I, II, & III; Differential Equations; Linear Algebra (which included Vector Spaces, Matrix Transformations, & Alternate Coordinate Systems and Transformations), and Comple [more]

Linear algebra is an essential subject for all quantitative fields of study. When it's introduced, though, it came seem unfamiliar and perhaps very abstract. As a math major, I've worked with both applied problems (eg. optimization, graph theory, probability) as well as abstract (eg. transformations) and proof-based courses and can help students do the same. I earned my BA from Bennington College in Vermont, and I enjoy communicating math so that it's approachable and understandable. I have worked with students ages 10-50 on areas from arithmetic up to calculus, statistics and linear algebra. [more]

I made an A when I took Linear Algebra on a Graduate level at Georgia State University. I have been teaching 9th grade mathematics for the last three years and part-time as a Math Adjunct teacher at ITT-Tech. I am a highly adaptive teacher, and I take pleasure in learning students? weakness to help improve their overall learning skills. While learning is important, I advise students that success is not only achieved in the classroom but in life as well. My tutoring specialties, at this point, mostly include such math areas as Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Calculus, SAT Math a [more]

I have passed a PhD-level exam in Linear Algebra as part of the work for my master's degree. I also have experience working in data management and coding, which requires the use of theory from Linear Algebra regularly. Linear Algebra was one of my favorite courses as an undergraduate math major. I have a B.A. in Mathematics from Clemson University. I have been fortunate enough to understand math and statistics with minimal effort throughout school. That said, I did reach a "tough point" in my time as a graduate student, so I understand the struggle for everyone. I'm here to coach you through a [more]

Tutoring throughout the summer of 2013 with higher education students, I refreshed and built my knowledge weekly by reviewing and solving with them many math problems. These hours included linear equations, quantitative math, graphs, percentages, inequalities, ratios and proportions, and geometry among some others. Cross-multiplication of fractional form equations has to be used to transform the problem into ax + b = 0 where a is not equal to 0, and the final x = -b/a. I have been using the distributive property, combining like terms, conversions, and radicals in the steps for students. [more]

Certified to teach math(6-12) in Florida and Georgia. Have taught in both states. Masters in Education UWF, math minor I preach the Gospel in Russian speaking churches in Europe and United States. I am certified to teach and have taught high school math and Russian in Florida and Georgia. The last degree I received was a Masters in Education in 2005 from the University of West Florida. The happiest part about tutoring for me is my working with students one-on-one and realizing that I played a role in their achieving academic success. Teach linear algebra at the college level. completed several undergraduate and graduate level courses in linear algebra with grades of A. I have 40+ years of teaching experience with all ages and subjects. I am a mathematics educator by training, and also teach study skills, reading, writing, computer applications and standardized test prep, including test-taking strategies. I am a 4MAT certified instructor which means I teach to the whole student via the learning modality and learning preference style of each individual. I will work with all ages and levels; I prefer grades 4 and up. I speci [more]

I am a Ph.D. math student in applied math and have to rely on linear algebra fundamentals very frequently. I have taken advanced classes in linear algebra, and frequently use it during my studies. Moreover, I have experience in abstract mathematics, which is a crucial part of linear algebra, even at the applied level. I grew up in the Midwest and studied civil and architectural engineering in college, where I helped my classmates with their math problems. I realized it was something I enjoyed doing and started tutoring anyone who needed the help. I liked making people feel comfortable with mat [more]

Linear Algebra was a course that was part of engineering curriculum 'B'. Hello - It is easy to teach and share book knowledge. However, I support book knowledge with application. Understanding principles, theories and formulas are important, but knowing how to apply them is the key. I am experienced with Microsoft Office applications, presentations, project management, various areas of math and sciences. In addition to the Bachelor's degree in engineering, I hold a certification as a Certified Occupational Specialist, Quality Technician, and Continuous Improv... [more]

In the spring semester of 2014, I received an A in graduate level linear algebra. The topics covered included inner product spaces, dual spaces, canonical forms, the spectral theorem, quadratic forms, operators, the classical groups, multi-linear algebra and applications. This class had an emphasis on proofs to ensure a deep understanding of the topics and concepts involved. In my current research, I use linear algebra on nearly a daily basis. I teach statistics, and require a basic understanding of linear algebra and its applications. [more]
