My PhD is in Physics where extensive use of linear algebra occurs. I have pear reviewed published papers in theoretical quantum mechanics where the overlying structure relies on linear algebra. Finally, I've tutored college level linear algebra courses for years. (( HIGHEST RATINGS! )) PARENTS: Bring the full weight of a PhD, as tutor, and student advocate. Hello Students! If you need help with mathematics, physics, or engineering, I'd be glad to help out. With dedication, every student succeeds, so don?t despair! Learning new disciplines keeps me very aware of the struggles all studen [more]

I have tutored Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry and SAT Math for years. My SAT Math scores were in the 700s, although I went on to major in English. I am usually able to help students gain confidence and knowledge, and the two go hand-in-hand. My current tutoring in SAT prep has me right on top of this subject. I am an encourager by nature, so being a tutor allows me to do what I do best. I have experience teaching in public and private schools, in addition to my extensive tutoring background; but I enjoy being able to give individual instruction that is tailored to the specific needs, person [more]

Studying linear algebra is much like learning a new language, or a new logical system where you have to think about proofs and axioms more so than in previous semesters of calculus. From my background in philosophy I offer helpful ways to think about vector spaces and axiomatic systems, which is typically what students struggle with in linear algebra. Having scored near the top of my linear algebra class at Penn I will also help build confidence in solving linear equations, though most students find the computational aspect of the mathematics less difficult than the theory. I passed Linear Algebra with an A in the Fall of 2010 at Kutztown University. I have been a curious student my whole life and I like to pass on not just knowledge, but my love of learning. I graduated High School with a GPA above 4.0 and immediately joined the US Navy in their Nuclear Propulsion program. I spent 4 years in the Navy learning about nuclear reactors and then decided to start a family when I got out. Since then I have finished my BS in Physics with a minor in Math graduating Cum Laude. I also was inducted into the physics honor society, Sigma Pi Sigma,... [more]

In the past 10 years, I have taught various freshman and sophomore level classes in mathematics which have included modules in linear algebra. I have also taught linear algebra in an operations management class and I have utilized linear algebra techniques in the workplace. I have been a part time college instructor for over 10 years at a local university. While I have mostly taught all levels of calculus and statistics, I can also teach college algebra and pre-calculus as well as contemporary math. My background is in engineering and business, so I use an applied math approach to teaching. [more]

The class in differential equations that I took while I was a junior in high school included a component of linear algebra, and showed the intricate connection between the two subjects. This component of linear algebra, as it pertained to solving differential equations, was part of what I helped my first student with. One of my classes at Caltech was solely dedicated to the study of linear algebra, as a more theoretical concept. However, topics in linear algebra such as vector spaces and matrix manipulation applied themselves in a more concrete way to many of my other classes there. [more]

During my bachelor's degree, I took linear algebra and passed. Then, while working on my master's degree, I earned an A in the graduate level of Linear. For anything I have forgotten, I am good at reading the text and reteaching myself, and then my student. My name is Wendy. I have a secondary school (middle and high) teaching certificate in math from IL, and an endorsement in psychology, and experience with most other subjects. I have been teaching for the past 20 years and more, usually in math, but often helping with many other subjects. I have developed a number of little tricks to help [more]

I have taken Algebra courses during my undergraduate study. I have been also teaching the subject at college level and for high school students. The topics I have been teaching includes: algebraic operations, expressions, equations, polynomials and graphing of linear and quadratic equations. I used active learning methods where the the students were actively engaged. I was successful to deliver the lesson. I graduated with Bachelor's of Education degree with a Physics major and a Mathematics minor from Wollega University in Ethiopia. I earned my masters in Materials Science from the Univ [more]

I feel I am qualified to tutor in this subject as I have an extensive math background. I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and earned an A in my undergraduate Linear Algebra course. I have always enjoyed math and have dedicated he majority of my academic career to studying math and statistics. While I enjoy this subject, I know not all share this feeling and that it can be a very frustrating subject at times. My strategy as a tutor is to help students understand the "why" behind each concept and not just rely on memorization. I also want to show students how math can be helpful and [more]

I have taken two courses on Linear Algebra in college. I also still have two different textbooks to use as references. I am teaching an Algebra 2 class right now that is working with Matrices and I still have all of my notes from my two classes. I am currently working at a local high school as a Geometry teacher. I started at my school in January 2014 after the previous teacher left. I have taught Geometry and Math II, which combines Geometry and Algebra II into one class. I am also currently working on my Masters degree in Mathematics Learning and Teaching from Drexel University. I am about [more]
