My mathematics background has involved the extensive use of linear algebra in the solution of problems in finite elements analysis, quantum mechanics and general engineering. I have successfully helped a number of students get top grades this subject. I look forward to sharing this knowledge with perspective students. Math, Physics and Engineering are my main areas and I have a solid record of success helping students as a tutor. Most have improved by two grade points. Recently, I earned a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech and won an award from ASME for my dissertatio [more]

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Belmont University. I am currently enrolled at the University of Texas at El Paso in order to obtain a Master's Degree in Mathematics Education. I have taken two courses of Linear Algebra. I have over 15 years experience teaching and tutoring mathematics. I have taught middle school through college level mathematics. I also have experience teaching SAT/ACT PREP and Study Skills. I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics from the University of Texas in May 2016. I am eager to teach and love to instill confidence in my students. You W [more]

I have passed the Praxis Middle math exam with a score of 177. The national standard is 165. I have spent a half year teaching I integrated math 2 and 3. I am currently a teacher with Montgomery County Schools. I have over 8 years teaching in the public school system and am new to the Christiansburg area. I love teaching math and used to be a struggling math student myself so I now approach my tutoring with all these things in mind. When students struggle in algebra it is generally because they struggle with the basics. I would patiently review order of operations and integers rules as wel [more]

I have a Masters in mathematics and have taught Linear Algebra courses. Also, my Master's Thesis was in numerical linear algebra. From an early age I have had a love of mathematics and problem solving. I always knew I would pursue a career in mathematics. After obtaining a B.S. in mathematics with a minor in computer science from Lynchburg College, I completed a M.A. in mathematics from Wake Forest University with additional work in computer science. Fate pushed me into education, where I fell in love with teaching. The first five years of my career was spent teaching college. From there [more]

I have taught linear algebra for many years both for the math majors and for the engineering students. I have passed courses which use linear algebra extensively, such as Linear Models in Statistics and Linear Systems in Systems Engineering. I have experience training students in probability and statistics for many fields of study, including actuarial programs. I have gone through the experience of studying and passing actuarial exams and will train the students to prepare for the actuarial exams. I have a Ph.D. in probability theory and have training in Statistics. I have taught statistics [more]

Linear algebra tries to handle systems of multi-variable equations in matrix form. ME grads like myself must complete a sophomore-level course on the subject. Modern-control theory favors this matrix concept in senior/grad-level ME courses to treat even differential equations whether or not they are "Laplace transformed" into algebraic form. If you have to complete courses like these, I've taken a few and can guide you. One key coping mechanism is to lay out your system to minimize variables: "triangular"-ize the matrix so it may be "back-solved." By rearranging and by cautiously rounding-of [more]
