I am a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Southern Methodist University with a degree in chemistry and mathematical sciences. I received A's in my linear algebra classes at SMU and can submit a copy of my transcript upon request. Hi. My name is Mike, and I currently teach mathematics at a private, college preparatory high school. I have also taught math and science at the middle school level. My primary focus is in tutoring students in pre-algebra through calculus and I enjoy working with students at all levels of education from elementary through college. I have successfully tutored students through [more]

I covered the subject of linear algebra in multiple undergraduate courses including Math Methods for Physicists and differential equations. I also used them in courses such as quantum mechanics and Electromagnetic field theory. In graduate school I took two semesters of linear algebra. Hello! I am a professional engineer in the middle of a career transition and looking for some extra work on the side. I recently moved to Newport News but am willing to travel around the Hampton Roads region. I have a very diverse background, have traveled extensively, and studied many fields. My formal edu [more]

Linear algebra describes things in two dimensions, but many of the concepts can be extended into three, four or more. Linear algebra implies two dimensional reasoning, however, the concepts covered in linear algebra provide the basis for multi-dimensional representations of mathematical reasoning. Matrices, vectors, vector spaces, transformations, eigenvectors/values all help us to visualize and understand multi dimensional concepts. I took linear algebra on way into calculus through JCC under the instruction of Professor Stephanie Hall. I received an A in the course. [more]

Took undergraduate and graduate courses in linear algebra (UCLA and UVA) along with several computational courses that depended heavily on linear algebra (numerical analysis, finite elements, parallel processing). Also I had to pass qualifying exams in linear algebra to get my degree. I have taught several sections of linear algebra at VCU. I have been teaching math (with a smattering of computers and physics) for almost 20 years and was TA for quite a few years before that. The great thing about teaching is that I am always learning new things. I also enjoy explaining cool mathematical co [more]

I taught linear algebra at undergraduate level for many years. I was the coordinator of the linear algebra course. I have a PhD and Masters from Fatih University. I started my teaching career as high school mathematics teacher in various countries for about ten years during which I gained my most valuable teaching skills. I strongly hold the idea that every academic must go through this experience at least for a year since you learn how to meet the very diverse needs of students at all levels while teaching mathematics. I worked as a teaching assistant, lecturer, assistant professor and as [more]

I am finishing my PhD in applied mathematics. I have taught linear algebra and differential equation classes as a teaching assistant for undergraduate students. I have a strong background on this subject. I am finishing my PhD in applied mathematics at University of California Merced and I will be living in Carrboro, NC starting in June. I have a math major BSc and MSc in mathematics from Turkey. I will be working as an instructor at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in math department starting in August. I would like to tutor students who may need support for their math skills. I [more]

My undergraduate minor was in Mathematics. I can help you learn biology and math. My teaching experience has mostly been at the college level teaching at 2 year, 4 year and post graduate institutions. I have also been a substitute teacher in high school and elementary schools as well as home schooled children with special needs or who were suspended. My focus in biology is ecology, entomology and evolution; however, I also have a strong background in mathematics. My teaching style can include lecture; however, I prefer to enga... [more]

My background in physics, specifically quantum mechanics, makes extensive use of eigenvalues and eigenvectors; I also used linear algebra numerous times in my electrical engineering courses (manipulation of Kirchoffs voltage and current laws as it applies to circuits), tutored in the subject, and took a class specifically for this in my math minor. Hi, there! I'm Robert, and I'm a Tidewater Community College Engineering alumni, currently pursuing dual degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering! I love teaching and tutoring, not only for the satisfaction of seeing my students succeed, but al [more]

I hold a BS in Mathematics with one course in linear algebra. I am a graduate of the University of Maryland, with a B.S. in Mathematics and M. Eng. in Systems Engineering. With over 10 years experience tutoring and 5 years teaching at the middle school, high school, and community college levels, I have learned that teaching is more than just delivery of information. I believe that educators must instill confidence in their students, for they will only be successful when they believe it is possible. I also believe that most students struggle with adva... [more]

I have very strong math skills and Linear Algebra is no different that other areas on mathematics. I have taught a number of students on Linear Algebra and have the skills and knowledge to solve questions and build liner equations to solve word problems. Don't struggle through or "just get by" another school year or college semester. Together we can take your skills to the next level. My style is simple. I use technology, common sense, practical examples, humor, and patience with a "no quit" attitude. I believe in the fact that we can learn what we do not know, and we can master the knowledge [more]
