Professional Math Tutor and Statistical Consultant

Logic expands on the conditional statements first learned in geometry. It also uses set notation from probability. I've successfully tutored students in this class. Bachelors in Math Education and Masters in Applied Statistics. Several years experience helping students from all levels. I've helped students from different backgrounds--from students with an IEP to gifted students. I have not met a willing student whom I could not help. I excel at clearly explaining challenging math concepts in a way that students can understand. My approach during tutoring sessions is to first show a few math p [more]

Effective Tutor Specializing in LSAT Prep and Writing

Mastering logical concepts is fundamental to doing well on the LSAT (Law School Admittance Test). I have scored in the 98.6 percentile (172) on a real LSAT, and received a perfect score on both the logical reasoning and logic games sections. I have also tutored my peers on the logic portions of the LSAT. When tutoring, I focus on a specific concepts/question types and then work through different practice problems. Hello, LSAT takers. I'm Brock. A little about me: I work for Alston & Bird, one of the largest corporate law firms in Atlanta, where I work with the litigation and trial practice gro [more]

Hi, I'm Damon. Physicist, scientist, and hopefully your tutor!

As part of my philosophy degree, we were required to take both Propositional and Prepositional logic. I was allowed to skip the first semester due to my math background, which was more extensive than most others enrolled in the philosophy department. I also spent a semester studying modal logic and set theory under the direction of a professor in the department. I graduated from College of Charleston in 2008 with dual degrees in physics and philosophy, and I received my doctorate in physics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017. Over the past 10 years, I have tutored, taught astronomy la [more]

Math is cool, I use it everyday!

I got a 101 in my college logic class this semester. I'll be happy to help. I tutored the other students in my class when taking the course. In multiple math classes that I have taken, each has a logic component that I always did well in. I have tutored many of these classes and specialize in truth tables and logical proofs. My name is Chelsea and I am returning to Altanta from the Anniston, AL area. With my bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Wesleyan College and brief experience as a high school math teacher, I am confident that I can help with all of your math needs. Looking forward to [more]

I'm your friendly neighborhood mad scientist.

I have studied various schools of logic, including symbolic logic, Aristotlean logic, and mathematical logic. I utilize logic as a tool for helping geometry and algebra students to solve proofs. I am the main author of the book, "Nyansapo: Scientific Problem Solving and Decision Making for Everyone," (2008) which discusses formal and informal logic tools to be used when evaluating a hypothesis. I have 15+ years of relevant professional experience as a teacher and as an engineering/research professional. My experience includes international teaching & tutoring in Bermuda, Trinidad, Kenya, Ba [more]

Changing Attitudes from I can't to I can

My exposure to Logic came while taking my first abstract math course. I've learned to use truth tables and understood conditional and bi-conditional statements. Using Boolean logic is my favorite type of logic areas. My love of math began in middle school after I realized how beautiful it is and how it is applied to everyday life. That love of math influenced my decision to major and graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from Georgia State University. I began volunteering as a tutor between 2006 and 2009 in mathematics from elementary to College Algebra and started again in 2012, the same year [more]
