I have taught many students the concepts and applications of mathematical logic. Topics include, but are not limited to, truth tables and Venn diagrams which I've applied to solving word problems that involve building a two-dimensional table and by the process of elimination determine which situations are and are not possible. I've also taught students set theory including intersection and union. I have been a math and computer science tutor since 2009 and have worked with over 80 students individually. My students range from elementary school to high school seniors. I tailor each lesson t [more]

I took Logic I during my Senior year at the University of Washington and found it to be one of the most fun classes I have ever taken, and I passed it with a 4.0. I'm fully experienced with both propositional and predicate logic, how to create truth tables for each, and how to prove theorems. Some of these skills were also used in various math classes I previously took, among them Mathematical Proofs and Axiomatic Geometry. If your student is struggling with their math class this school year and needs a better understanding of the material before Monday, then I'm available to help them secure [more]

I have taught 8 years of math, 4 in 5th grade and 4 in the middle school. I completed my undergraduate degree at Washington State University. I earned my masters in curriculum, assessment, and instruction from Walden university. I am considered highly qualified per the Lake Washington School District in Math, Reading, writing, social studies, and science. I have a Masters from Walden University and a degree in Elementary Education from Washington State University. I have eight years of teaching in the Suburbs of Seattle, Washington. The first four years of my career I thought 5th grade at [more]

I studied logic at Bellevue College in high school. I have tutored several logic students. I maintain my proficiency with quiz questions from a math website. I studied a variety of fields while pursuing my degree in Chemical Engineering. I am a skilled tutor with more than 5,000 hours of experience tutoring or teaching. I studied a variety of fields, while pursuing my Chemical Engineering degree. I became a tutorial instructor, because I am excited to see people learn. I was a tutor, through college. I always studied for depth with the intent to teach what I learned. It is common for my stude [more]

I discovered my love for logic in high school when I spent an entire summer immersing myself in theoretical math, proving obscure facts like 1+1=2. In geometry I aced all the proof quizzes and found it easy to apply to calculus and physics as well. Even now my favorite puzzles are logic equations, even if they are in the form of circuits these days. As an engineering program manager for 15 years, and with an MIT degree to boot, I know my fair share of math and science, having taken Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology AP II. It all started when my algebra teacher sent me to math camp and [more]

I am in the Computer Science field, wherein logic and discrete math are foundations for my work. I have tutored several students in these fields and find that often, students simply need a bit of extra help learning the basic principles at the start of a class, or that they need something explained to them in a different way than what they have previously heard. I am qualified to teach logic principles found in high school and university course levels, up to and including some graduate material. [more]

[You hire a great logic tutor] --> [You will improve your study of logic and enjoy the process of learning!] [I am a great logic tutor] ---------------------------------------------------------------- [You hire me] --> [You will improve your study of logic and enjoy the process of learning!] I earned an A+ in Logic (Philosophy 101) in college and continued on to excel in several upper level Philosophy courses. I scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT (law school entrance exam that tests logical reasoning). I enjoy analyzing arguments and crafting only those that are consistent, valid, comp [more]

I have taken college level courses in logic, both Intro into Logic and Advanced Logic. I received A's in both classes. In addition, I worked with Logic as part of my specialization in my Philosophy degree. Hi, my name is Erica. I have a dual degree in Biochemistry and Philosophy (with a specialization in Logic, Science, and Analytic Philosophy). My tutoring experience includes working as a tutor for two years at Seattle University tutoring my peers in chemistry, biology, physics, and calculus and volunteering by tutoring first graders for a year, focusing primarily on math, reading, and wri [more]

I earned a 3.9 in Intro to Logic at UW. As a linguistics and philosophy major, I utilize logic in many of my classes. I can help with trees and derivations for propositional and modal logic. Hello, I'm Hayley. I am a recent graduate from the University of Washington with double majors in linguistics and philosophy. I was part of UW?s Honors Department, maintained a high GPA, and participated in several clubs on campus. I am an excellent test-taker, with scores in the 99th and 98th percentiles for the ACT and SAT respectively. I received both the National AP Scholar and AP Scholar with Distinct [more]

I took formal logic and metalogic at Kent State and got A's both times. I took metalogic, logic seminar on completeness and computability, and set theory at the University of Washington, earning a 4.0, 4.0 and 3.6, respectively. I have taught introduction to logic and critical thinking at UW and Cascadia Community College and have written an introductory formal logic textbook currently in beta testing. I specialize in standardized tests, especially SAT, ACT and LSAT. Although I generally consider myself a mathematician, having studied and taught philosophy at UW for seven years, I also have [more]
