I've helped several students better understand logic materials for their school subjects, from a student taking logic for her community college math requirement, to writing logical reasoning elements into the curriculum for an entire Southern California junior debate league (with over 500 students enrolled). I have experience teaching the basics of symbolic logic and propositional logic (conditional statements / if -- then / truth tables / atomic symbols), basic logic "language" (^ in / & out etc.), as well as more applied logic (LSAT logical reasoning multiple choice, the use of logical fall [more]

Logic is one of my core areas of research interest and is the area I have the most experience teaching in. I have taken numerous graduate-level courses in logic, including Modal Logic and Metalogic. I developed and taught a university-level course covering both Propositional (Sentential) and Predicate (Quantificational) Logic. I have also worked with USC faculty to develop online resources for teaching and learning introductory logic, aimed at making the material accessible to visual learners unfamiliar with formal languages. As an undergraduate student at RPI I took several courses in Logic and Argument excelling in all. I loved the material. In my Digital Electronic Design Engineering background I studied Boolean Algebra as well as Binary Logic in courses such as Fundamentals of Logic Design. As an Engineer I applied all this knowledge in my Designing of Digital Electronic Circuitry. Whether it be verbal application or electronic application I'm quite well versed and am an excellent candidate to teach you the subject matter. [more]

I graduated from UCSD with a math degree, graduating magna cum laude. One upper division course was Logic. I became a programmer, and have been using the basics of logic for over 35 years. I have great skills in debugging, and this is an exercise in logic as well. Qualifications: -BA in Math from UCSD, magna cum laude -OVER 4000 successful hours of tutoring in the last 6 years -You will not only learn the subject, you will learn to improve your ability TO study -Can debug even the most bogged student -Excellent reviews from clients attending major colleges to K-6th -I've even had studen [more]

As a student at Amherst College, I concentrated on logic, taking classes in mathematical logic, set theory, computability theory, philosophical logic, etc. I also took graduate level classes in these areas at ETH Zurich -- the number one school for mathematics in continental Europe. I was a tutor and teaching assistant for the philosophical logic class at Amherst for two years. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in education teaching students general critical thinking skills gained by studying logic. [more]

I studied logic at Harvard with Warren Goldfarb, who wrote the standard textbook - Deductive Logic - that is used throughout Philosophy departments in the United States. I received an A in the course and a perfect score on the final examination. I continued to develop my logic skills in numerous courses in the Harvard Philosophy department, including Epistemology and Metaethics. The methodology I have learned consistently proves to be helpful in simplifying and clarifying challenging logic problems for students. [more]

My thesis research was in the field of mathematical logic. I am expert on recent developments in the field. I can cover all levels - from propositional calculus to advanced set theory. Hello there! I've worked as a tutor for several years and helped countless students fulfill their academic goals. I'd love to help you achieve the same. My experience includes graduate studies at Caltech, working as an adjunct professor at Occidental College, and holding a lecturer ('dozent') position at a private college in Berlin. I have worked as a private tutor for agencies in Los Angeles and Berlin, and wo [more]

I excelled in college logic and easily tutor the logic section in geometry. I would need to prepare for intermediate and advanced logic tutoring to bring myself up to date. I am fully credentialed. I work with kids and parents to meet specific goals. My background is in student cognition with gifted, twice-gifted, special needs students. I have successfully been tutoring for more than a decade and parents call to update their children's academic achievements following my tutoring. I have produced multiple valedictorians and my students generally get into their top choice schools.... [more]

I've taught 23 logic courses (including symbolic logic) at the college level. I earned my masters at UT Austin where I focused on the metaphysics of space and time and took many advanced logic courses. I enjoy not just logic but also critical thinking more broadly and would be happy to help anyone trying to learn this difficult material. Hey I'm Tristan. I'm an adjunct philosophy professor at Santa Monica College and I've been teaching logic and philosophy for 10 years. I love to think about philosophy and I have a wide range of philosophical interests. I've taught courses on the philosophy of [more]

I've been working on proof based classes for 3 years. Logic is one of the basic foundation for higher math. I have straight A's in all my proof based classes. I currently tutor upper division math at CSUN in the math department. And I've been tutoring for 2 years now and logical arguments are always used. Hello, my name is David and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics from California State University, Northridge. I am also one semester away from completing my Teaching Credential program with a Single Subject Credential in Secondary Mathematics. I want to be a math profes [more]
