I taught symbolic logic several times while a graduate student at UC-Irvine, and also taught logic as a component of the discrete mathematics courses at Virginia Tech as a line instructor there. As a mathematician with a doctorate, I have had extensive experience using formal logic. In one capacity or another (graduate teaching assistant, university line instructor, high school teacher) I have been teaching for much of the last eleven years; my favorite part of my teaching jobs has been tutoring people one on one in office hours, where progress towards learning is much easier to see and sense. I have tutored logic for nine years with homeschool classes. I have used both Traditional Logic I and II and Introductory and Intermediate Logic. Both of these curricula are used in both public and private school systems. Traditional Logic I is an introduction to Formal Logic. It is a study of the classical syllogism and formal fallacies. Traditional Logic trains the mind to respect truth. It is a High school level text book. Traditional Logic II is Advanced Formal Logic. It is also a High school level text book. It continues the study of deductive inference with the treatment of fi [more]

I taught LOGIC at the undergraduate level at Strayer University in Baltimore MD periodically for several years during the early 2000s. I taught the process of arguments and symbolic logic as part of the curriculum. My student evaluations of this subject averaged approximately 4.2 out of 5. I have decades of experience teaching undergraduate and adult learners that feel they are lost with mathematics or statistics. I thoroughly enjoy teaching individuals that have some fear of the subjects, because once they understand that I also experienced this fear, then they realize they are not alone w [more]

I have a background in computer programming, which has logic as a fundamental underpinning. I'm familiar with logic as well, as I enrolled in a logic course in college and took analytical philosophy. As a programmer, my daily practice of having to think through abstract problems helps me to apply logic to puzzles and everyday situations. I graduated from Wofford College in 2014 with a BA in Spanish and minors in Latin American Studies and Medical Humanities. After graduation, I spent a year teaching Spanish at a private school in Atlanta and have developed as a teacher of foreign languages. In [more]

I took several logic courses at UNC-Chapel Hill as an undergraduate. I have acquired Master's Degrees in sociology and counseling at Arizona State University. I have taught courses in logic for Devry University. I have a great passion for both teaching and learning that has grown with me as I have pursued two Master's Degrees and raised four children to be passionate learners themselves. I have learned to accommodate all of the learning styles through my years as a professor in community colleges and universities. I have worked with students from all walks of life, and I have counseled individ [more]

Through my education in mathematics I have been rigorously trained in logic. I have also spent two summers TAing for Johns Hopkins CTY program in which I have taught logic to the students there. I am currently a graduate student studying mathematics and statistics at Wake Forest University. I graduated cum laude The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. I have spent time at both universities tutoring for the mathematics and statistics department. Throughout my college and high school years, I also tutored privately for pay and tutored for free [more]

I have an extensive quantitative background, including numerous methods, mathematics, and deductive logic courses. I am a PhD candidate at UNC, one of the best Political Science programs in the country (top 10). Currently I am working on my dissertation, and teaching undergraduate classes. At UNC I was a sole instructor for Introduction to U.S. government (Fall 2017), and Quantitative Research in Political Science (Spring 2018). The latter course introduces statistics, data science, and programming in R for social science research. I also have been teaching SAT and GRE courses (all sections) f [more]

I am a certified high school math teacher with three years of experience teaching Logic with an emphasis on Boolean Algebra. I studied Logic in college with the Applied Mathematics department for four years. In addition, I have tutored Logic topics for six years. I am a certified high school math teacher from the Southside Virginia area with a passion for educating young minds for a brighter future. I have been teaching for three years and tutoring for six years. I graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Mathematics in 2015 and I am currently completing my M.S. in Mathematic [more]
