I studied Logic while in college and received an A in the course. I also used logic extensively in advanced math courses. My experience includes helping students think more analytically, construct Venn diagrams, construct truth tables, and solve LSAT logic games. I've been a math teacher and an adjunct professor. I taught at Duke University and began tutoring over 20 years ago. Through my experience teaching students of all ages, including teens and adults, I've seen the importance of adapting my teaching to the learning style of each person. I also have several years of experience applying m [more]

I have taken multiple courses in mathematical logic, theory of computation, model theory, Boolean algebra, and digital design at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at University of Maryland, UNCG, and NC State. Additionally, I passed a PhD qualifying exam in the subject. Note that I am not as familiar with the techniques that are typically used in formal logic courses taught in philosophy departments. I have been tutoring and teaching basic algebra through advanced undergraduate level* math for over 10 years. My students and clients have consistently praised my patience and clarity. Du [more]

I took a college course in Logic while still in high school, and was a Philosophy and Mathematics double major at Providence College. Then, during my graduate studies in Philosophy at the Catholic University of America, I took a course in Symbolic Logic. Finally, I have taught a college course in introductory Logic. After being trained in standardized test instruction by Kaplan (the leading test prep company), I have logged over 2,000 hours as a tutor over the last three years. In addition to tutoring, I teach Philosophy as an adjunct professor at the University of Mary Washington in Frederic [more]

I have always had strong problem-solving and reasoning skills, which have helped me succeed in all areas of study, especially mathematics. I also enjoy solving logic puzzles. I took the LSAT, a logic and reasoning test, on a whim and scored a 92%. My strong communication abilities allow to me explain reasoning process to others, which helps them comprehend how to reach the solution. Hi! I love helping people, which is why I've chosen to be a tutor. Whether it's elementary-school-aged children learning the fundamentals, high school students preparing to take their ACTs, SATs or a class te [more]

The study and understanding of deductive logic has been crucial in my understanding of higher math (e.g. ring theory). I have also taken courses in college on logic (in general) towards both a math and computer science degree. I'm an undergraduate studying Mathematics and Computer Science at UDC, and I also have an associates degree in Computer Science. Moreover, I have experience tutoring my peers from when I was in high school and for a few months during my first semester of college when I helped teach a high school AP Computer Science class; it was a very rewarding experience. This is along [more]

I have completed graduate level coursework in metalogic and modal logic, and applied this knowledge in fields like computer science. My educational background is extensive. I attended the University of Delaware, where I earned three majors (physics, computer science, and cognitive science) and three minors (philosophy, mathematics, and political science). I later earned a law degree from the University of Virginia. In other words, I have spent far too many years of my life in school. In addition to school, I've worked in multiple fields, as a computer programmer and a First Amendment lawyer. [more]

I have a Masters degree in pure mathematics. I have taken several undergraduate classes in logic and have taught the subject to Liberal Arts students. I have a passion for Math. I have been teaching and tutoring part time for the last 25 years. While in college, I was on the Putnam Intercollegiate Math Competition team for 3 consecutive years, and won several math competitions. I had a 4.0 GPA in math as an undergraduate (graduating with more than twice the number of required credit hours in math). I also obtained a perfect score in Computer Science (20 out of 20) while a student at the Univer [more]

As a CS major and Math minor, I have taken multiple courses in logic as it is a foundational topic for programming. I wrote a book on Semantic Web programming, which relies heavily on logic-based systems. Specifically, both propositional and predicate logic, such as the SPARQL query language, are core subjects and were covered in the book. In addition, OWL (Web Ontology Language) is a logic-based language that uses Description Logic (DL) in part and was also covered in my book. Hello! I have been privately tutoring Mathematics and associated topics (physics, computer science, chemistry) for [more]

I've been tutoring math for a long time. I got a math degree in college, and I've passed classes in abstract algebra, discrete math, and set theory, both of which use formal logic. Hello Students and Parents: My name is Yu and I have a master's in math from the University of Maryland, College Park. I have had almost a decade of tutoring experience in a variety of subjects and I've improved their grades by an average of a letter grade. My talent is taking apart complicated systems and breaking it down into easy-to-explain, simple parts. I enjoy tutoring and working with students, and from [more]

I am a certified secondary math teacher with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. Logic is generally taught in Geometry, and I have not only been trained in it, but have taught Geometry and Logic in Maryland public schools and in international schools in Costa Rica. I've not run into a full course in Logic, so its better to well rounded and able to incorporate logic into proof and problem solving methodology. I have practical work experience in doing just that. Flexibility, quality, and affordability are the keywords that drive my online tutoring service. We turn to the web for just about ever [more]
