I have taken classes in Formal (Philosophical) Logic, Mathematical Logic, Set Theory, and other branches of Logic. In 2006 I ran a mini-course in logic for Lifetime Learning, Inc. in which students were introduced to logic by solving Knights and Knaves puzzles. On a one-on-one basis, I have over 30 hours of experience tutoring all aspects of logic from syllogisms and logical fallacies to deductive proof techniques. I have been teaching and tutoring since 2007 and have a long list of satisfied clients. When I'm not tutoring with Wyzant, I'm the STEM Educator for United Skates of America. It's m [more]

I have taught Math for Liberal Arts at the college level for 5 years. A chapter in the course is logic. I teach logic from a very simplified method using Euler & Venn diagrams. I am a college level professor looking to make extra cash by helping you understand your subject matter. My background is Industrial engineering with post graduate studies in mathematical statistics. I have taught all levels of math but prefer only College level subject tutoring. My tutoring style is very hands-on... meeting in person is the only way I prefer to teach. My sessions are 75 minutes for the simple reason [more]

-- I was lucky enough to spend extended time studying under the great African philosopher and logician Kwasi Wiredu. -- I've worked as a logic professor at three different post-secondary schools and many students tell me that, although it was scary at first, I made logic their favorite subject of the semester and that I'm their favorite teacher. -- Outside of the classroom, I've led a number of independent study passion projects related to symbolic logic. (Yes, there are people who are passionate about symbolic logic. It's actually not as cold a subject as most people think.) -- I'm a sup [more]

I am fully qualified to tutor or teach logic, both formal logic and "informal" logic. I have a BS degree in Mathematics (with a minor in Philosophy) from Penn State University and a MA degree from SUNY Buffalo in Mathematics, with a concentration in Mathematical Logic. For the past ten years I have taught at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, where I taught math and philosophy. I have taught Critical Thinking at Champlain for over ten years. Prior to that I taught full time at Clinton Community College, where I taught math, statistics, logic and philosophy. [more]

When it comes to higher mathematics in a college setting, a firm grasp of the rules of mathematical logic is not only encouraged, but required. I have taken courses on logic before, and am fully ready to explain the process behind various proof structures. Logic is naturally a passion of any mathematics student, and you will find no exception in me. Hello! My name is Jacob and I'm told I'm a bit over-enthusiastic when it comes to mathematics. From algebra to calculus to topology, there's something to love about every course and I'd be delighted to help you find it. I've been tutoring since hi [more]

I have completed Mathematical Logic and Proofs, Discrete Structures, and Formal Logic courses. Each of these three courses offered a different perspective on logic. I have been tutoring a College Mathematics courses consistently for at least two years which partially focuses on turning sentences into propositions, identifying valid and invalid arguments, and set theory as they pertain to mathematics. Hello, I am a currently a junior mathematics major, and I have four years of tutoring experience and tutor management/consulting at the college/university level. My experience also includes three [more]
