Logic is a major part of Discrete Mathematics I. Logic is also a major part of reasoning through mathematics. I have excelled at proof writing throughout my math degree. I also excelled at logic in Discrete Math. I received an A in all of my college courses except one- I received a B in Calculus III. Hello! My name is Lindsey. I have always had a passion for math- I majored in math in college and got my teaching certificate in Pennsylvania in math as well (grades 7-12). I have had a variety of experiences with tutoring. I was a university math tutor at Edinboro University and also privately tu [more]

Logic is nothing more than an application of the logical part of the brain. We can use symbols to represent not only what certain statements say but also can use other symbols to specify specific meanings, ex, using 'V' to represent an 'OR' situation as in 'it is raining OR is it sunny" After using these symbols, we can then apply the many rules of logic to determine the validity of one's conjectures. Sometimes we can determine a total truth - ie a tautology, and other time it will not be true, ie a contradiction. In many ways, this area of study is fairly easy; however, it does get a litt [more]

I received an A in my upper level Mathematical Logic class, which covered topics up through incompleteness and complexity in first and some second order logic. I have helped students with introductory logic topics for math, computer science, and philosophy. I have always received good feedback, and am positive that I can teach logic at a variety of skill levels for a variety of disciplines. Greetings! I'm Douglas, a mathematics teacher at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY. I hold a B.S. in mathematics with a minor in philosophy and I absolutely love communicating math at all levels! I spen [more]

I immediately tested into an undergraduate/graduate level logic course, in which I received an A, and helped other students. I also have done independent research in the field of multivalued propositional logic, using algebraic Geometry. I spent my undergraduate career working with the tutoring and academic success center at Cleveland state, and the math (only) tutoring center through the math department. I found, like many others, that it is a profoundly rewarding experience. My philosophy is simple, 'understanding is knowing what questions to ask'. Thus, you're better equipped for dealing wi [more]

I have a B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. One class that I took was P105: Logic and Reasoning. It's a Philosophy class, instead of a math class, but there you go. It's a class in college-level formal logic. I got an A. I've taught math in the classroom in Colorado. I've been tutoring since I was in high school myself. I have many different ways to approach different concepts and can probably find the best way for your needs. I've had great success teaching students everything from beginning fractions through all of high school math through Calculus [more]

I studied Mathematical Logic in my Master's degree course. I am good at the topics like Set theory & Paradoxes, Symbolic logic, Model theory, algorithm, Recursion theory. I have done Master's in Statistics so I am very confident about this subject. I have completed a Master's in Statistics, a Bachelor's in Statistics, Mathematics, & Physics (First Class First with Distinction), and also Bachelor's in education, with a focus on Math & Science. I have more than 16 years of experience in teaching Math & Statistics in India for 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and .12th grade students.I have also done Micros [more]

I find programming on a computer and designing a digital circuits to use the logic. Logic is a system or set of principles underlying the arrangements of elements in a computer or electronic device so as to perform a specified task. I have taken Logic and Computer Design Fundamentals during my graduate level courses. I have taken Digital Design Principle & Practices that included the study of combinational logic design principles during my undergraduate courses. I believe that my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and graduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering has prepar [more]
