I studied mathematical logic with Gerald Sachs at M.I.T. I took every mathematical logic class offered at Harvard and M.I.T. These include Recursion Theory, Set Theory, Model Theory, and Higher Recursion Theory. In each class, the grade of A was received. Books studies include Enderton's "A Mathematical Introduction to Logic" and Hodges' "A Shorter Model Theory." I taught mathematical logic in the philosophy department at UGA. I studied mathematics at M.I.T. for many years. I came to Georgia to get a doctorate in philosophy. I have been teaching and tutoring for a decade at various colleges [more]

I have extensive experience in computer programming through my time as an electrical and computer engineer and personal interests; I would argue that nothing teaches one to think logically better than having to explain things to a computer. My skill with logic placed me consistently at the top of my class in Discrete Math and OOP, exposures which further developed my abilities. Finally, I have years of experience teaching difficult subject matter with an interactive and Socratic method, which is effective under any circumstances, but essential for teaching something like logic, which demands a [more]

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Mathematics. As a pure math major I took everything from Linear Algebra to Advanced Calculus. I am currently a High School Math teacher and have taught everything except AP Calculis. I understand what it is like to struggle in a math class. I believe everyone can learn math with the right approach. I will do whatever it takes to help you be successful. I have been a high school math teacher for 20 years. I have taught everything from Pre Algebra to Pre Calculus and AP Statistics. I wrote the Geometry Curriculum for our school and consider that course [more]

I took 16 total hours of logic and argumentation in preparation for my Ph.D. in philosophy, and I taught symbolic and informal logic at the University of South Carolina for three years. Hi there! My name's Michael. I got my Ph.D. in philosophy this year at the University of South Carolina, where I also taught for eight years. In 2015, I even won graduate teacher of the year, while teaching a course I developed on engineering ethics. I've taught or tutored hundreds of college students, and helped high school students successfully apply for some of the best colleges in the country. I get excite [more]

I have earned an "A" grade in all 4 college courses in logic that I have taken. The four courses include Critical Thinking, Proof Structures, Discrete Mathematics, and Introduction to Advanced Mathematics. All included truth tables, fallacies, logical connectives, set theory, proofs, recursion, logical connectors, conditional and compound statements, relations, functions, tautologies, contradictions, and logical equivalences. Hi, I graduated from Berry College with a BS in Mathematics and a minor in Business Administration in 2015. While at Berry, I worked in the college's Math Lab as well as [more]

At Morehouse I aced my Set Theory/Logic class. Therefore, there is no doubt in me that I can tutor this class without and problems. I have worked in the school community for over five years and I have worked in all avenues of education. I have successfully completed my math content GACE exams, which make a highly qualified teacher for 6-12 grade mathematics. I have taught all levels of mathematics, starting from the elementary level all the way to the college.I have successfully assisted in curriculum development and professional development among my colleagues. In my work as a math teacher [more]

I got a 101 in my college logic class this semester. I'll be happy to help. I tutored the other students in my class when taking the course. In multiple math classes that I have taken, each has a logic component that I always did well in. I have tutored many of these classes and specialize in truth tables and logical proofs. My name is Chelsea and I am returning to Altanta from the Anniston, AL area. With my bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Wesleyan College and brief experience as a high school math teacher, I am confident that I can help with all of your math needs. Looking forward to [more]

Logic expands on the conditional statements first learned in geometry. It also uses set notation from probability. I've successfully tutored students in this class. Bachelors in Math Education and Masters in Applied Statistics. Several years experience helping students from all levels. I've helped students from different backgrounds--from students with an IEP to gifted students. I have not met a willing student whom I could not help. I excel at clearly explaining challenging math concepts in a way that students can understand. My approach during tutoring sessions is to first show a few math p [more]

Logic can be taught a variety of levels. There are basic logic puzzles that can be used to teach logic. Also, philosophy teaches the development and proper implementation of logic and logical fallacies. I was in Honors classes since kindergarten and throughout K-12 these classes focused on solving logic puzzles. I also was on the varsity debate team at my high school and have three and a half years of varsity debate at the collegiate level with multiple awards. I am a certified science teacher in Fulton County with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Mercer University, ESL Certif [more]

My exposure to Logic came while taking my first abstract math course. I've learned to use truth tables and understood conditional and bi-conditional statements. Using Boolean logic is my favorite type of logic areas. My love of math began in middle school after I realized how beautiful it is and how it is applied to everyday life. That love of math influenced my decision to major and graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from Georgia State University. I began volunteering as a tutor between 2006 and 2009 in mathematics from elementary to College Algebra and started again in 2012, the same year [more]
