In order to be admitted into the Ph.D. program at The College of William & Mary, I had to complete the GRE. One of the components of this test is the logic section. I scored at the 95th percentile, as compared to other persons taking the test across the nation. My score was the highest score in the history of William & Mary. I teach Algebra from the logical point of view. I teach a unit on nothing but logic at the beginning of the semester. Students learn from this. They also have fun. My experience and expertise in this area should qualify me to teach logic. [more]

I am qualified to tutor in logic because I earned a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Iowa. To complete this degree, I learned and used logic truth tables and reasoning exercises. I received grades of B or above in my math classes including a Logic course. Hello, I love to teach mathematics and help students understand and become more interested in this subject. I have taught a variety of grade levels as I am a licensed K-12 Iowa math teacher. I earned a Masters degree in Math and a PhD in Math Education from the University of Iowa. I have taken classes from the Philosophy, Computer Science, and Mathematics departments in college and earned As, like philosophy and logic, discrete mathematics, and computer architecture. I have a Masters plus 30 in Mathematics. I have taught and tutored students preparing for the logic-based LSAT test. I use logic to write computer programs and solve math problems often. I am a teacher and instructor with over 7 years in classrooms with students from the 7th grade through college. My students are extremely successful on every high school end-of-course exam and that success continues in [more]

I received my bachelor's degree in Mathematics from UW-Whitewater. Logic is the most important tool to a mathematician, and has been a central focus in several of my upper level courses. I took a logic intensive course called "Fundamentals of abstract algebra" in which I received an A. Learning logic is similar to learning a new language, and I teach it with that in mind. I received my bachelor's degree in Mathematics from UW-Whitewater and am currently working on my Masters in Education in Instructional Design and Technology. I first discovered the thrill of teaching when I was about seven, a [more]

I have taught Principles of Reasoning (an introductory logic course) at the University of Iowa for two semesters. I have also taken (and received As in) undergraduate coursework in Symbolic Logic and Mathematical Logic, and graduate-level coursework in Modal Logic and Philosophy of Logic. I am a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Iowa. I have been teaching philosophy for 3 years, including a year spent adjuncting at a community college in a large urban area of Texas. Because of these experiences, and also because I am naturally a non-judgmental person, I am comfortable with a wide [more]

I have tutored logic and logical reasoning for 3 years. I am conversant with the application of logic in Mathematics and other fields. I tutor tests such as the LSAT which emphasize on logical reasoning. About Me I have MS in Organic Chemistry and during my time in school I tutored students in Chemistry and various other subjects. I was a Teaching Assistant for the 3 years during my masters and enjoyed teaching. It gave me an opportunity to not only improve my teaching style, but it was a challenging experience. In a class setting, it was always important to ensure that every student underst [more]

I believe I am qualified to tutor logic because most of my colleges courses after my first semester my sophomore year are all logic based. Sets and logic was the first course I took and received a B+, I received an A- in numerical analysis, and an A in complex variables. These courses needed logic and reasoning, as well as proof writing to be successful in these courses. I began teaching algebra while I was a freshman in college. I taught 5 algebra courses with a 96% pass rate. I also have success in tutoring all branches of math from algebra to calculus, as well as some logic and theory cours [more]

Logic is a method of understanding where you are, knowing where you want to go and planning and executing strategy on how to get there. It can be both intuitive and methodical. I have done logic puzzles, games, chess, math and algebra (for work and for fun) over the past 45 years. I can help you with the rules (how to get started), basic strategies. From there, your desire and passion will determine whether you continue to challenge your mind on a regular basis. We can incorporate logic and strategy games, Clue, Sodoku, puzzles, math, card games, etc. Chess can be a great tool to bring out le [more]
