I have taken 2 undergraduate logic courses, and 1 undergraduate/graduate course in logic and its metatheory. I have also taught my own introductory logic course (at Michigan State University). I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in philosophy, and I have taught introductory logic and introductory ethics courses. I am currently a doctoral student in philosophy at the University of California-San Diego, where I am a graduate teaching assistant for introductory philosophy courses and humanities courses. I have also tutored several WyzAnt students in logic and moral philosophy. So I a [more]

Since receiving my Ph.D. from the Logic and Philosophy of Science department at UC Irvine (in 2004), I have been teaching Logic at local colleges since 2005. In 2005, I taught the Language, Proof, and Logic textbook, but since then I have been using the Power of Logic. The classes I have taught have been billed as "Symbolic Logic", "Introduction to Logic", and "Logic and Critical Thinking." My goal is to help you learn math, and to come to see that math is useful, interesting, and fun. I teach all kinds of math, but my specialty is pre-calculus (Algebra and Trigonometry). When I was a stu [more]

As an undergraduate, I took multiple classes, in the Computer Science and Math departments, that covered formal logic. I'm somewhat personally interested in the history and philosophy of logic, and have read books on the subject. I'm a solid tutor with an advanced education and around ten years of experience tutoring and teaching. Many of my previous clients have called me the best tutor they ever had. I hope you'll agree. I have helped students in a number of challenging subjects, including Math, Statistics, Computer Science, and Psychology. I have experience and practice tutoring these subj [more]

Throughout my education, I have become very knowledgeable in logic, particularly because it was crucial to most of my core courses. Passing multiple logic courses was a requirement for my philosophy degree, and I excelled in all related classes. I enjoy the subject immensely and I have tutored it, as well as critical thinking and related math courses. Hello, my name is Christine. I have plenty of experience tutoring since I began in 2001. My tutoring experience includes tutoring individuals and groups at the K-12 and university levels. When I started tutoring, I was tutoring friends of mine in [more]

Logic needs a brilliant mind. Help building yours with someone who adores physics and maths as well as logic systems. A computer engineer who holds two master degrees. My name is Joseph and I tutor a lot of subjects related to computers, information technology and mathematics. I have bachelor degree in Computer Engineering as well as Masters degree in Computer Network Management from Middlesex University in the UK I have also Masters in Business Administration from Maastricht school of Management. I have almost a decade of tutoring experience over a wide range of levels. I enjoy working wi [more]

I have taken two logic courses at SDSU during 2011 and 2010 from Professor Carl Eckberg during my MA in Math teaching. They were in the computer science and the math departments but both covered logic including truth tables, circuits and more. I have been teaching both accounting and computer science at Palomar College part time since 2002. I also have a BS in Math, a California Single Subject Math Teaching Credential and will be earning an MA in Math Teaching by the end of 2012. I have been tutoring math and other subjects since 2004. HOWEVER: please understand that I am not here to do your h [more]

I have studied and tutored logic in a variety of contexts and while having quite a bit of fun! During college, I took a rigorous full-semester course on logic, at which I excelled. Later, much to my joy, I was a logic TA for that same class. I also recently took a Discrete Mathematics class which honed my logic skills, my ability to explain logic to my class peers, and allowed me more practice with the subject. ?Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.? -commonly attributed to Benjamin Franklin One of my favorite feelings has always been the ?a-ha!? mome [more]

As a teacher of science and mathematics, I have had to teach the subject of logic as part of my lessons on numerous occasions. One could easily assume that it is axiomatic that I be familiar with logic, if only on an informal basis. However, I have formal experience. My experience includes the use of logic circuits in computing and decoding outcomes from inputs into circuit composed of AND OR NAND and NOR gates. I also have studied and taught Logic as a formal course Deductive and Inductive reasoning, and proving the validity or fallacy of statements, assumptions, and positions using facts [more]

I have completed critical thinking and logic classes, most recently Symbolic Logic, also known as sentential or propositional calculus. I am familiar with truth tables, (indirect or not), symbolic translations, predicate logic and translations, logical proofs, conditional proofs, the rules of replacement, the rules of inference, identifying and explaining logical fallacies, logical contradictions and mapping of arguments. I would be happy to assist any student further their grasp of logic. I am a full time student, currently wrapping up my Associate's Degree, and while I do not have any paid t [more]
