I have a Ph.D in analytic philosophy; this included one year of mathematical logic. I have over 7 years experience teaching at the university level, and was scheduled once to teach 3 courses in logic. I have taught college writing at Rogue Community College, which had a section on informal fallacies. I have pointed to logical confusion in Robert Nozick's (former chair of Harvard) "Anarchy, State and Utopia," in my "An Individualist Anarchist's Reply to Nozick," published in the Journal of Libertarian Studies and which is still much discussed over two decades after its publication. When I was teaching myself algebra 2 under my teacher's supervision, I was required to prove geometric theorems given postulates and previously proven theorems. I also was classically taught logic in middles school which I then pursued in my own time for the purpose of debate. I also am an extremely advanced chess player (not expert though). Logic and math go hand in hand. Recognition of patterns and processes are the fundamental requirements of all mathematics. I have always been above average at math. I finished 2 years of calculus in high school (during which I tutored some class mates) but [more]

I have completed several logic based proofs classes through my undergraduate and graduate level math education. Geometry, abstract algebra, real analysis, and theory of differential equations are just a few of the classes I've taken that stress the use of logic to reach mathematical conclusions. I specialize in math education. I've been teaching kids and adults of all ages mathematics for 5 years. I teach/tutor all levels of math up through the college level. It is my ambition to share my passion for math through my energy, encouragement, and knowledge base so that students feel confident in t [more]

I've completed both a logic and philosophy course while at university. I obtained an "A" in a course titled "Essentials of Critical Reasoning" and an "A" in Moral Philosophy. Both classes either teach or require an understanding of logic principles. Logic courses are a prerequisite to my degree. Teaching is a passion of mine. I first worked as a high school tutor for the Tulare Unified School District in Tulare, CA. Since then I've graduated from Portland State University with a degree in philosophy and am a current clinical psychology PhD student. My school career can be characterized by a [more]

I have been an employed instructor for my Philosophy Department for two years teaching our Introductory Logic class called Critical Thinking. The course covers both informal and formal reasoning, the latter including testing the validity of arguments using various methods (e.g., truth tables, Venn diagrams, and syllogisms). Prior to my employment, I was a private tutor in Logic at my Master's program in Virginia. I am a very passionate teacher with a lot of experience. My education begins with a Physics BA degree from Colby College in the beautiful state of Maine where I also served as a Teach [more]

I taught logic within geometry, and I excelled at a college logic class. I am very familiar with if-then statements, negations, inverses, converses, contrapositives, and their logical equivalences. Yes, math can be fun! I have activities for a variety of math subjects (particularly Algebra 2, geometry, and AP statistics) that can break up the routine a bit. I believe it is most important to make a human connection with the learner. Using his or her interests and strengths, I can customize my approach. By making this connection with others, I have found that I learn so much from teaching. [more]

As part of my Master's degree in Philosophy I completed a course in logic and epistemology (received an A). Logic is a fundamental part of philosophy, my various mathematical courses, as well as the extensive computer science and programming I've completed. I've helped hundreds of people improve their skills and their lives. Let me help you. I hold masters' degrees in both philosophy and theology, and a bachelor of science degree in physics and engineering. I've worked as an advanced trainer and educator for companies like Intel, Evergreen Aviation International, and the Archdiocese of Portla [more]

I have tutored Logic for the last 3 years. I covered all related topics to Logic in Math and I have exercises to give for Logic. I have a Bachelor Degree of Accounting since 2003 and currently also working on my Masters in Financial Accounting in Portland State University. I use different techniques in tutoring different kind of students to get the information transferred clearly and with joy. I give homework, quizzes and I check the student's previous exams to address his weaknesses and focus on it. I'm patient & passionate in teaching all related subjects to math. [more]
