During my undergraduate study, I took full quantifier calculus including identity and description in the philosophy department and mathematical logic in the mathematics department. During my graduate studies, I have taken two semesters of Godel-Bernays set theory in the philosophy department and one full year of Zermelo Fraenkel Set theory, including decidability and completeness theory in the mathematics department. I continue to study order relations and order theory on my own. Hi, my name is James. I am an experienced, patient, and personable tutor of science, mathematics, software, and tec [more]

I have a PhD in pure mathematics. I have experience teaching a variety of math courses for undergraduates and can teach Logic courses. I have a PhD in Mathematics from Colorado State University in 2013. I have 5+ years experience teaching and tutoring undergraduate level math courses. I am available to tutor in a variety of math courses for grades 6 and up and also college level courses including algebra, calculus, discrete math, math for social sciences, probability and statistics. I can also help with SAT test preparation for math levels 1 and 2. I am passionate about teaching and have a ne [more]

I have used logic throughout my scientific career as a hardware engineer. I also took a professional course on digital logic/electronics. The knowledge gained in this course has been very helpful to me working in the scientific instruments field. I am a bay area graduate (UC Berkeley) who has loved the learning process all my life. I have used my math and science skills throughout my engineering career, and enjoy engaging others in the learning process. Seeing a student smile as they begin to understand a difficult topic is very rewarding. I specialize in tutoring chemistry, math, and phys [more]

I have 4 years of experience teaching an online geometry course heavily based on logic. This course is proof-based and all assignments are submitted as formal proofs or logic tables. I have also tutored college level into to logic courses. Hi! I am Michelle. I went to school in New York at SUNY Old Westbury. While obtaining my degree in Mathematics, I also completed many education courses. I went on to San Francisco State University to work on my Master's Degree in Mathematics. I am currently an Adjunct Math Professor in the Los Rios Community College district. I have been tutoring mathemati [more]

David Foster studied logic while an undergraduate at UCLA, and continued studies in logic and philosophy while earning his Master of Divinity at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. He continues to tutor logic and critical reasoning to this day, thirty years later. David enjoys the rigor of critical thinking as applied to many different disciplines, and is thrilled to see his pupils gain mastery of sound reasoning skills. I love to teach students of all ages. I have extensive experience (35+ years) as a professional pianist and piano teacher, and a music degree from UCLA [more]

I have taught Introduction to Logic, as well as Intermediate Logic, to 6-12th graders. I also took Introduction to Logic in college within the past eight years. I am a certified general and advanced tutor with the College Reading and Language Association. My AA in Administration of Justice was earned in June 2005 and I passed the CBEST then as well. I taught high school: Biology, Chemistry, Algebra II, Geometry, and English from 2008-2011 with a local charter school. Homeschooling my five sons has been a huge part of my life for the past 22 years, as well as teaching various homeschooling clas [more]

I have been a professional math tutor for more than 30 years, and in that time I have tutored a number of students in the area of Symbolic Logic; currently I am in the process of writing an Introduction to Symbolic Logic. Logic has always come very naturally to me; I began studying it when I was 12 years old (which was a long time ago!). In the course of pursuing my bachelor's degree in Mathematics, I took (and earned A's in) two separate courses in Logic, one offered by the Math department and the other by the Philosophy department. Some of the topics covered in those courses were: Logical [more]

Completed course "Deductive Logic" at SDSU which encompasses both symbolic and predicate logic. Furthermore, I have 2 years of teaching experience at SDSU for phil 110 "Critical Thinking and Composition," which emphasizes introductory logic. I received a Bachelor's degree at San Diego State University with a major in philosophy and a minor in English. I further complete my Master's degree at SDSU in philosophy. During my graduate studies, I taught a course on Critical Thinking and Composition for four semesters. I specialize in essay construction of all varieties (creative writing included). F [more]

I teach Naval postgraduate students our course EC2820. I start with basic Boolean logic and basic Digital Logic design for and not and or logic then Nand , Nor and xor circuits. We start with exhaustive truth tables. I use DeMorgan's theorem for logical equivalents. Then using storage or memory elements, logic finite state machines. I cover computer science theory of automata with the Turing machines topic. I show how a finite state machine is the basis for a central processing unit (CPU) in today's computer. It fetches, decodes then executes the CPU instructions on its data. [more]

Over the last 40 years I have taught Logic concepts to students as part of courses that I have developed and taught for Sun Microsystems, De Anza College, University of California Santa Cruz, Zilog Inc., GTE Electronic Systems and Services, and US Navy. I have a BS in Computer Science, AS in Computer Technology, and AS in Electronic Technology. I am certified to tutor Discrete Mathematics which is the theory behind Logic. In some circles they are considered very similar courses. If the student doesn't already have a text book from his or her school, I use materials that I have stored on my [more]
