I worked in a community college math tutoring center for four years where, among other things, I tutored students in logic, which was a component of the Liberal Arts Math classes and the CLAST test (community college exit exam). I also created many of the study guides and worksheets for logic used in the math center. My teaching certification includes Mathematics, Spanish, and French. I tutor across a number of disciplines, but take my greatest pleasure in bringing an understanding of mathematics and foreign language to students struggling in those areas. I have taught Mathematics at both [more]

I've successfully completed upper division college coursework in Foundations of Mathematics, a logic course which often begins with truth tables and advances rapidly into formal mathematical proof. For several years, I have tutored individuals and offered small group, supplemental instruction to students enrolled in a variety of logic courses. I have been tutoring high school and college students for the past seven years. Typically, I find that most students, even those who claim not to be ?math people,? have the skill and ability necessary to be successful, but they often lack confidence. I [more]

To fulfill my general requirements in the math area at UNO, I took a Logic Math Course at UNO and earned an A. I also have been tutoring students in Critical Reasoning that I have in my GRE and GMAT as well as LSAT. My reckoning is augmented by my math experience. Hello, I'm an enthusiastic tutor who can respond to your calls for help in math, reading, writing, editing, test preparation, and more. I consistently benefit from the good habits I formed throughout my school years. I have earned a M.S. in Workforce Training and Development, a MBA, and a B.M. in audio recording. My daily focus rem [more]

In addition to my academic and teaching credentials, I studied formal mathematical logic as part of my master's program. As a precursor to Discrete Math and its application to computer programming I took a class named after its primary textbook, "Discrete Structures, Logic, and Computability". This class focused on teaching basic mathematical logic principles and proofs like most others, then went on to tie each concept into specific applications to discrete data structures outlined by the JTFCC (Joint Task Force on Computing Curricula). I have taken several logic classes during high school and college. As a senior at the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, I took "Logic and Game Theory" and received an A. Additionally, I took Intro to Logic at University and received an A in the course. Further, I studied the theory behind logical statements during "Foundations of Mathematics" at University. I also tutored a college student in the University Intro to Logic class and as a result, she made a B on the final exam, allowing her to pass the course. [more]

I just completed my last semester of coursework for a Master of Arts Degree in middle school math with an overall B+ average with a overall math average of a B in middle school and secondary math. The degree required a great deal of study and concentration in pedagogy and study skills. I have also taken and passed the GRE and the Praxis I series and Praxis II in middle school math. My Master's Portfolio included problems in discrete math including combinatorics and logic. I am a Master's of Arts in Teaching in Middle School Mathematics candidate who just completed coursework at U.N.O. and [more]

Logic was taught during various courses in the engineering curriculum (Statistics, Probability, Supply Chain). Hello - It is easy to teach and share book knowledge. However, I support book knowledge with application. Understanding principles, theories and formulas are important, but knowing how to apply them is the key. I am experienced with Microsoft Office applications, presentations, project management, various areas of math and sciences. In addition to the Bachelor's degree in engineering, I hold a certification as a Certified Occupational Specialist, Quality Technician, and Continuo [more]

Took Elementary Symbolic Logic at Tulane University. I earned an A in the class, and afterward I studied logic on my own. As a philosophy major at Tulane, I have taken courses that engage logic theory, using knowledge I had gained in Elementary Symbolic Logic. As someone who's been an ABA therapist the past two years, I have a lot of experience working in preschool and one-on-one educational environments. This experience includes working with the cognitively and developmentally disabled, e. g. autistic youth. I have also worked as a career peer mentor for the undergraduate student body at [more]

As a math major, I've worked both directly and indirectly with logic. I've successfully completed coursework in symbolic logic in the philosophy department, hardware logic gates in the computer science department, as well as using general ideas of logic in programming courses and set theory and proof-based math courses. I have worked with students ages 10-50 on areas from arithmetic up to calculus and statistics. I look forward to working with you! I graduated from Bennington College in Vermont with a bachelor's degree in mathematics, and at that time, I was already exploring my interest in co [more]
