I took Logic in college, and received the highest grade in the class. I was personally commended by my professor who told me that I had a natural ability for logical thinking. I finished college with a Philosophy B.A. which I earned with honors due to using logical thinking to understand and write about philosophical thought. I went on to law school and then the practice of law where my logical thinking played a large part in my career. Hello. Perhaps I can be of assistance to the student seeking some extra help in that subject that is just getting the best of him/her. I have a law degree [more]

I have completed all undergraduate logic courses available at University of Pittsburgh with a grade of A in all of them. I can manipulate sentences of both sentence and predicate logic in a few different formal systems. As an Eagle scout and former camp counselor, I have several years experience of informal teaching. I have taught both physical skills like swimming, canoeing, and karate, as well as more "paper-and-pencil" knowledge, including the basic understandings of weather, first aid, and the behaviors and classifications of mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. I have also tutored elementar [more]

Logic is a method of understanding where you are, knowing where you want to go and planning and executing strategy on how to get there. It can be both intuitive and methodical. I have done logic puzzles, games, chess, math and algebra (for work and for fun) over the past 45 years. I can help you with the rules (how to get started), basic strategies. From there, your desire and passion will determine whether you continue to challenge your mind on a regular basis. We can incorporate logic and strategy games, Clue, Sodoku, puzzles, math, card games, etc. Chess can be a great tool to bring out le [more]

I taught Set Theory and Logic or Foundations of Math in several college math departments. I also taught Logic in a college philosophy department and in a high school. I also wrote a textbook on logic (Better Thinking and Reasoning). I have taught at 7 different colleges (public, private, and technical). I received awards for my teaching based on student evaluations - mostly because I am patient and take time to tutor students having trouble. I have also written high school math textbooks. I know math and I want to help you know it, too! I have taught non-credit college courses: Pre-algebra [more]

In pursuit of my Bachelors in Pure Mathematics, I have taken several proof-based higher mathematics courses, which relied heavily on formal mathematical logic. Furthermore, as part of my Masters degree in Statistics, I have taken several Mathematical Statistics and Measure-theoretic courses heavily employing formal mathematical logic and systems of logic. To students and parents: From my experiences, I've learned how to communicate confusing and difficult mathematical and statistical concepts in multiple ways that can be understood by anyone. If something doesn't make sense to you, I can exp [more]

I have taught logic (logic calculus) as a part of Finite Math, Discrete Math and Discrete Structure courses at RU and Lewis U. (Not mentioning segments in the History of Mathematics which I taught at RU Fall 2013). I have also tutored this subject for several years. I tutor a variety of math subjects, from the SAT prep to algebra, trigonometry, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, finite math, logic, probability and statistics. I started to tutor math when I was a university student, and ended as a professor supervising Ph.D. students in computer science and bio-engineering at the UIC. I have t [more]
