Logic factored heavily into my studies as I completed my BA in Mathematics at CCSU. I studied logical statements in Discrete Math, and applied logic to construct exhaustive proofs in classes such as Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, Advanced Geometry, and my senior capstone, Seminar in Proof. I have also applied logic in philosophy classes. I am a high school math teacher at a prestigious charter school in New Haven. My method is constructive - I assess the degree of comfort that a student has with the material first, then build on that understanding progressively. I have also helped many [more]

I have received A's in one course in symbolic logic and one graduate-level course in modern predicate logic (covering topics such as completeness and soundness, truth trees, and Godel's Incompleteness Theorem). I have audited one graduate seminar on logical consequence in Notre Dame's Philosophy Department and another proofs-based course on the logical foundations of computer science in the Notre Dame Mathematics Department. I have worked through syllogistic logic textbooks with university students. I also have a minor in theoretical, proofs-based mathematics, so I have a lot of experience wit [more]

Logic is an inherent component of all mathematics which I utilize on a daily basis in my teaching and professional careers. In 2009, I gave a presentation in logic at the EPADEL (Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware) Mathematics Association of America meeting in Gettysburg, PA which focused on creating your own axiomatic (logic-based) system. **I am now accepting students for the Fall 2018 Semester in both college and high school!** I completed my Bachelor's in Mathematics with Secondary Education Certification from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where I took every Mathematics cou [more]

With a degree in computer engineering and minor in computer science, I have taken five logic math and circuits courses. I graduated from SUNY Polytechnic Institute with Bachelor of Sciences in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering with minors in Math and Computer Science. I also hold a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with 3.7 GPA, Concentration in Electrical Power System, along with a Graduate Certificate in Power System and Electronics from NYU-POLY in Brooklyn NY. I was attending NYU-POLY as a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering. However, due to my curren [more]

I studied logic in philosophy as a philosophy minor and as a mathematics minor at Fairfield University. And I also have taken graduate courses. I currently work as a substitute teacher and I worked at Nature's Classroom for over six years. I am in the process of earning a secondary Mathematics teacher certification. I have a degree from Fairfield University in Physics and minors in Philosophy and Mathematics. I also have quite few courses of graduate Mathematics under my belt. I currently work as a substitute teacher and I worked at Nature's Classroom for over six years. I am currently in the [more]

In my undergraduate and graduate studies in mathematics, I was trained to write numerous formal mathematical proof, using logic with math theorems, postulates, definitions, and properties. As a teacher, I have taught logic skills, in the form of 2-column proof writing, in multiple levels of geometry. Hi all! I have been teaching math and tutoring all high school math subjects for a decade. I love tutoring for the one on one experience is very rewarding to both the student and me. My schooling has been through a strong mathematics study. My undergraduate degree is in mathemati [more]

In pursuing my Mathematics degree in college, I excelled in many course involving rigorous mathematical proofs and logical reasoning. Among these courses are Philosophy of Logic, Symbolic Logic, Discrete Math, Real Analysis, Abstract Algebra, and Hyperbolic Geometry. I also achieved scores greater than average on the Putnam Mathematical Competition for several years, which is known to be an exceptionally difficult exam which relies heavily on the application of symbolic logic and sound reasoning. Additionally, I have tutored 200+ hours in various mathematics courses, often focusing on providin [more]

I have taught math courses in symbolic logic, as well as taken a course on Socratic Logic in philosophy. I can teach and assess the validity or soundness of arguments and analyze fallacies. I have fluency with both predicate and first-order logic, and experience with second-order logic. I can also relate logic to computer science as represented in circuit design with transistors. My experience with teaching covers a wide range, with classroom experience from kindergarten to undergraduates in college, and tutoring from middle school to graduate school. My students have consistently reported a p [more]

I minored in Philosophy and tutored Logic for 2 years. As a logic tutor, I worked with a variety of students including students who were blind. I developed original tactile system to teach categorical and propositional logic. I developed technical communication skills. Hi! My name is Andrew and I graduated in May 2014 with a B.A. in psychology, as well as with minors in philosophy, neuroscience, and sociology. My approach to tutoring is meeting you wherever you are at and building collaboratively from there. I am also open to learning so while I might not have experience in an area I am a [more]
