I taught symbolic logic several times while a graduate student at UC-Irvine, and also taught logic as a component of the discrete mathematics courses at Virginia Tech as a line instructor there. As a mathematician with a doctorate, I have had extensive experience using formal logic. In one capacity or another (graduate teaching assistant, university line instructor, high school teacher) I have been teaching for much of the last eleven years; my favorite part of my teaching jobs has been tutoring people one on one in office hours, where progress towards learning is much easier to see and sense. I received "A" grades in both mathematical and philosophical logic and have extended both through continuing courses in mathematics, computer science (including artificial intelligence), and philosophy. Passion: Helping students understand and enjoy a subject area is my passion. I live for the "aha" moment when they "get it" for the first time and that day when I have a formerly math-hating or math-a-phobic student smiling and laughing as they work. Experience: I am finishing my PhD in mathematics and science education with a dissertation studying undergraduate mathematics peer tutors at a lo [more]

I have a Masters degree in pure mathematics. I have taken several undergraduate classes in logic and have taught the subject to Liberal Arts students. I have a passion for Math. I have been teaching and tutoring part time for the last 25 years. While in college, I was on the Putnam Intercollegiate Math Competition team for 3 consecutive years, and won several math competitions. I had a 4.0 GPA in math as an undergraduate (graduating with more than twice the number of required credit hours in math). I also obtained a perfect score in Computer Science (20 out of 20) while a student at the Univer [more]

I currently teach Logic as part of my course load at the University of Baltimore. For the past three years I have tutored students from Towson University's MATH100, 105, and 205. Are you struggling with truth tables, funny looking symbols, and word problems that make your head spin? I've helped many college students succeed in their logic courses. Do you need help in math? I am here to help! I am an experienced tutor and my favorite subjects are Algebra and Geometry! In addition, I have experience tutoring Elementary students, all levels of middle school math, and all levels of high school mat [more]

The study and understanding of deductive logic has been crucial in my understanding of higher math (e.g. ring theory). I have also taken courses in college on logic (in general) towards both a math and computer science degree. I have been a professional tutor on Wyzant since fall 2012, and a teacher at Cyberninjaz since summer 2015. Prior to that, I had years of experience teaching both formally and informally my friends, classmates, and even a high school AP Computer Science class for a few months. During this time I have tutored countless students and peers of all ages, with many different g [more]

I have completed graduate level coursework in metalogic and modal logic, and applied this knowledge in fields like computer science. My educational background is extensive. I attended the University of Delaware, where I earned three majors (physics, computer science, and cognitive science) and three minors (philosophy, mathematics, and political science). I later earned a law degree from the University of Virginia. In other words, I have spent far too many years of my life in school. In addition to school, I've worked in multiple fields, as a high school teacher, as a computer programmer and [more]

I have always had strong problem-solving and reasoning skills, which have helped me succeed in all areas of study, especially mathematics. I also enjoy solving logic puzzles. I took the LSAT, a logic and reasoning test, on a whim and scored a 92%. My strong communication abilities allow to me explain reasoning process to others, which helps them comprehend how to reach the solution. Hi! I love helping people, which is why I've chosen to be a tutor, formally and informally, over the past 15 years. Whether it?s children learning the fundamentals, high school students preparing to take their [more]

I aced a course in mathematical logic during time in high school, allowing me to place out of the mathematical logic/proofs class at UMD. There has also been extensive use of mathematical logic in every advanced math course I have taken at UMD and in high school. I also have experience tutoring mathematical logic and proofs outside of Wyzant. Hi, I'm Aaron. I've just begun my second year at the University of Maryland, College Park, where I am a math major. I attended Montgomery Blair High School, where I was fortunate to be able to take many advanced math and physics courses not normally offer [more]

I just received my Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. One of our very first courses in the program was Mathematical Structures, or Logic. This course became the building blocks for succeeding courses in the math program. I successfully obtained a high grade in Logic. I was then able to tutor others in the course in the tutoring center at my college. Hello! My name is Alicia, I have a bachelor of science degree in mathematics, and I have been a mathematics tutor for about 8 years. I've also taught GED math and high school algebra in a classroom setting. I'm here to help you succeed and [more]

I had extensive Logic and Apologetics training in high school as well as taking a Logics class in college. I can train on basic logic as well as logical arguments. Is your child frustrated with learning? Are you battling every night just to get through homework time? Time to call in the tutor to end all frustrations! It's time to call the Rad Tutor! As a student at the University of Colorado, I earned my B.A. in English, in addition to pedagogy classes. I then went on to teach full-time in Arizona for 5 years with great success.
