During my undergraduate studies I got a 3.8 in a logic course, and during my graduate studies I got a 3.7 in a deductive reasoning course. On the logic section of the GRE test I was at the 91 percentile score level. I regularly use logical reasoning when explaining math to students, during my own graduate studies - MS in Mathematics earned 2012, and in every day life. I have 15 years of experience teaching mathematics to students of all ages and backgrounds, but I especially enjoy tutoring students one-on-one where I can focus on the student's individual learning needs. I have taught and tu [more]

Mastering proofs and analysis along with the formal logic behind mathematics has been a core part of my training in mathematics. I have tutored many students in the area of Math logic, and can help you or your child in this subject. I can help make understanding math logic easier by explaining how to set up proofs, what strategies to use when doing proofs, and what to look for and what to avoid. I have an undergraduate degree from CSU Fullerton in Mathematics and Statistics with a Finance Cognate. I helped run the Math tutoring lab for almost 5 years, and have been tutoring for longer than tha [more]

I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of California, Los Angeles. I completed two lower-division philosophy courses in Logic as an undergraduate, one of which is now an upper-division philosophy course in the philosophy department at UCLA. These Logic courses were instructed by a world-renowned logician in the Philosophy department at UCLA by the name of David Kaplan, via a software program he authored, Logic 2000. I am a full-time private tutor, specializing in English, primarily the SAT English & ACT English, despite that I was also an SAT Math instructor [more]

I love solving Logic problems. I took a class in Pasadena City College and it came really easy to me. I think that having a strong foundation and an aptitude for Mathematics really helps in understanding Logic problems. My goal is to help those who are struggling in Logic get past that barrier by helping them understand Mathematics. I was a Math tutor in PCC for two years, and I know how to go down to a student's level to help them overcome their weakness. I have a tendency to use analogies, because I believe that examining something from a different angle helps in understanding something that [more]

Logic is one of my core areas of research interest and is the area I have the most experience teaching in. I have taken numerous graduate-level courses in logic, including Modal Logic and Metalogic. I developed and taught a university-level course covering both Propositional (Sentential) and Predicate (Quantificational) Logic. I have also worked with USC faculty to develop online resources for teaching and learning introductory logic, aimed at making the material accessible to visual learners unfamiliar with formal languages. I majored in philosophy at U.C. Berkeley, and logic was one of the core competencies of the curriculum. Among my coursework was a class dedicated solely to logic and another one was dedicated to analyzing fallacies. After that I earned two more degrees. Since then I have spent 18 years as a professional orator, and logic is a key component of persuasive oratory. TEACHING EXPERIENCE I've had vast experience in teaching and tutoring, including teaching history and philosophy at a graduate level, mentoring college students, and college career prep with high school students. I've been a guest [more]

I have taught/tutored for 7 years. I was both a student and graduate assistant at CSULB where I attained a B.S. in Mathematics and a M.S. in Statistics. I have experience tutoring in all mathematics subjects up to and including graduate-level material. I have a massive amount of experience in tutoring almost all of the subjects that I'm qualified to teach or tutor. Thus, it is very difficult to find another tutor who has as much experience in tutoring algebra, geometry, trigonometry, proba... [more]

This class has trained me to be comfortable and competent in using logical tools to analyze and understand arguments and to form my own. In the process of familiarizing myself with these tools, I was able come to a deeper understanding of the process of argumentation itself ? recognizing in greater detail the underlying structure of the arguments that bombard us every day and being able to respect and evaluate the various elements that can make those arguments strong or weak. Hit a wall? Hello Parents and Students! First and foremost, I frankly thank you for spending the time in surfing or [more]

I took Logic in China when I was in high school. I already have 5 years experience for logic. I like logic very much. I always use my own way to tutoring my tutee how to study logic. They always tell me they cannot pass the class without me. I am so happy because I like to help people. My name is Jade. I had learned computer logic when I was attending University of Texas at Arlington. Because of my training, I am very familiar with Flowchart and Pseudocode and have used these two tools to show logic statements. Furthermore, I am familiar with Visual Logic Pro which is the tool could be used to produce various logic statements including condition, repetition, and sequence. I have worked for various companies such as IBM, General Dynamics, Boeing Company, and Southern California Edison as a computer programmer. During the period of working for those companies, I had developed flowcharts and p [more]
