Math majors are required to take a class called Methods of Proof. The curriculum of this class includes a section on logical statements, truth tables, etc. This class, along with the entirety of upper division math curriculum, focuses on logical processes and proof based problem solving. I have been tutoring math for over five years, most recently as a tutor for Cal Poly's math department. My favorite part of any tutoring session is the buildup to the "Aha!" moment. I believe that building up to that moment is the most important, as it represents the learning process. If a student excels in th [more]

I have taught Logic circuits for 10 continuous semesters at Sharif University of Technology as the workshop and TA for the Logic Course with Prof. Mahmood Tabandeh (PhD). I have also wrote a Logic practice handbook based on the hundreds of practices I solved for the students during those terms. It is a very interesting subject having both technical/scientific and social everyday life applications and this helps me in the class very much. The most important thing is that I love teaching as a general concept. I have taught many university courses as well as some high school topics. I have taug [more]

David Foster studied logic while an undergraduate at UCLA, and continued studies in logic and philosophy while earning his Master of Divinity at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. He continues to tutor logic and critical reasoning to this day, thirty years later. David enjoys the rigor of critical thinking as applied to many different disciplines, and is thrilled to see his pupils gain mastery of sound reasoning skills. I love to teach students of all ages. I have extensive experience (35+ years) as a professional pianist and piano teacher, and a music degree from UCLA [more]

I have 4 years of experience teaching an online geometry course heavily based on logic. This course is proof-based and all assignments are submitted as formal proofs or logic tables. I have also tutored college level into to logic courses. Hi! I am Michelle. I went to school in New York at SUNY Old Westbury. While obtaining my degree in Mathematics, I also completed many education courses. I went on to San Francisco State University to work on my Master's Degree in Mathematics. I have been tutoring mathematics courses for more than 14 years: private tutoring, working for learning centers, or [more]

I have been a professional math tutor for more than 30 years, and in that time I have tutored a number of students in the area of Symbolic Logic; currently I am in the process of writing an Introduction to Symbolic Logic. Logic has always come very naturally to me; I began studying it when I was 12 years old (which was a long time ago!). In the course of pursuing my bachelor's degree in Mathematics, I took (and earned A's in) two separate courses in Logic, one offered by the Math department and the other by the Philosophy department. Some of the topics covered in those courses were: Logical [more]

I took multiple Logic classes such as Mathematical Logic, Symbolic Logic, Logic Proofs, Boolean Algebra and Set Theory for my Graduate Studies in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University and Statistics at Yale University. I am proficient and comfortable with various kinds of Logic at all levels. I have an Undergraduate degree in Engineering and 2 Masters degrees in the subjects of Electrical Engineering and Statistics from Stanford University and Yale University respectively. I believe the most salient part to being a great tutor is patience and understanding. There is no subject too diff [more]

I took philosophy of logic and symbolic logic in summer and fall 2013, respectively. I led peer study groups in each class and tutored symbolic logic for a semester. I am a recent graduate from UC Davis, where I studied chemical physics and minored in human physiology and neuroscience. I have two years experience tutoring k-6 in math and reading, and three years experience tutoring college students in chemistry and math. I received a 32 on the old MCAT but I'm taking time before entering medical school to raise my son.... [more]

I have a B.S. in Discrete Mathematics, acquired in Fall of 2016. I took a full year of Analysis (classes I and II) as well as a semester of Introduction to Proofs. I was also able to tutor these subjects at the UNR Math Center efficiently. My name is Scott. I am 22 years old and have two B.S. degrees from UNR: Discrete Mathematics and Secondary Education in Mathematics. I have seven years of math tutoring experience through my high school tutoring program, the UNR Math Center, and a private, in-home tutoring service. I am very professional and take my work very seriously. If you want to know [more]

I have my bachelor of science in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, Davis. The major involves heavily on logic background. I have also taken the related courses for the logic both at UC Davis, and Diablo Valley College(DVC), Pleasant Hill, CA campus. I have graduated with double major in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Davis. Ever since I took math class at elementary school, I loved learning math. I was always the first person in the class to raise my hand to answer the teacher questions. I was so curious in learning multiple ways of approaching [more]
